I really love these shoes. I just started training for another Ironman 70.3 and found these to be perfect for the long distance runs. In addition, I've never had a shoe that was so comfortable while still relatively light.

I'm 5'10 and 150 lbs. I put in 50+ miles a week, and work at a running specialty store so I get to try out all the different shoes. Being a neutral runner who loves plush cushioning, I was initially excited to use the Glycerin 8. I've run through two pairs of these, putting 500 miles on each pair, so you could say I know these shoes. Here are my thoughts:At first, the shoe feels great. Average weight and sizing, but nice plush cushioning. After a couple hundred miles however, you start to notice how cheap the shoe really is. The materials in the heel lining are terrible, and their plushness fades very quickly, almost to the point where it is uncomfortably hard. The DNA cushioning also wears quickly, and the shoe noticeably deteriorates after about 350 miles. As previously stated, I am only 150 pounds and therefore a much lighter running, so there's no need for the shoes to wear out this quickly. I'd say these shoes are worth $100, but definitely not [$], you are supposed to get a premium shoe and as far as those go, the Asics Gel Nimbus 12 and the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 are much better choices.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
My wife bought these for me( to get me to run with her) and it worked! I've never worn better running shoes. The only change I made was I bought the "no tying" shoelaces to allow them to be a little wider and now they are perfect!! I love them so much we bought a second pair! it's amazing how a pair of shoes can motivate you- I have now done a 5k and am training for a triathlon.

- Only a walking shoe
Comments about Glycerin 8:
Brooks advertises like this shoe has great cushion. The only part of the shoe that does is the extreme rear of the heal. If you strike the ground anywhere other that that it will feel like you are running on concrete. Hard as a rock. I would not recommend if you need good cushion or heal impact. Unless that heal impact is back crest of the heal. And that is sketchy. However they are ok for just walking

Comments about Glycerin 8:
I've owned at least 2 dozen pair of Brooks, this is the first Brook's shoe that's disapponted me. They are clunky and ill fitting. Hurt my legs from the very start. I've always loved my other Brooks because I could start running with them new out of the box and they would fell so good. Not these.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
This is my fourth pair of the '8' and it has proven to be as good as the original pair. I will be sorry if they ever go out of stock. I use them for mid-mileage road and light trail running.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
I bought these as an additional pair of running shoes. I currently have two other pairs of Brooks shoes and they are perfect. I ordered the same size as my other Brooks' shoes and these came in a much more narrow size. The 2E was tighter than any D I have ever worn. Also, the first day wearing them around the house and the seams began to split. I had worn them for about two hours and all I did was walk around the house. I can see why they are discounted. Brooks really dropped the ball on these shoes.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
I recommend these as they are very comfortable, light weight and very durable. I am currently on my third pair. Have worn many high end shoes that cost less and a lot more and every other brand I have ever worn have always worn out on the inside of shoe, especially on the outer heal area, prematurely. These are the only shoes I have not had this issue with. Seems like most manufactures care more about the outside looks and nothing else. I hope Brooks keeps the quality up on the entire shoe like they do now.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
I like the shoe width option. I have worn Brooks Glycerins before and fell in love with the comfort and support of the shoe. I have not been able to run for years because of arthritis but I still use Brooks shoes for walking and outdoors. I also have a pair of Addiction walking shoes that I love. Brooks is easy on my knees.

I wore these shoes on one run and compared to the Brooks Adrenaline, they were heavier, had an uncomfortable foot strike and made a clicking noise with each step to the pavement.

Comments about Glycerin 8:
I run 3 miles on a typical outing. I was nervous about buying online, but liked Brooks return policy and a friend said the brand was good. I took the chance.
Today I ran a 3 mile run for my first test of the shoes and it was great. No complaints. I would say they are slightly better than my New Balance. I look forward to getting many miles out of these.
I recommend them.
