What is the heel drop of ghost 17?

Hi Stephanie, thanks for your question! We've added even more DNA LOFT v3 underfoot with a new offset of 10mm for feel-good comfort, and the newly designed midsole combines with precise flex grooves to promote added flow toward toe-off.

How much height do these shoes add? How thick is the sole? Wondering as a tall girl

Hi Kateryna. The total stack height, from the bottom of the tread to the bottom of where your foot sits, for the Ghost 17 is 36.5mm in the heel and 26.5mm in the forefoot.

Are they slip resistant ?

Hi Ashley, thanks for your question! This style is not slip resistant. Most of our shoes are designed for performance running and offer great traction on roads. Though many people choose to use them for other activities for their comfort and support, they are not intended for use on indoor floors and are not designed nor certified for slip resistance on the job. If you’re looking for a shoe for work and need OSHA-certified skid resistance, we recommend checking out Shoes for Crews. They have lots of comfortable options designed to wear at work. Our shoes are designed to last for approximately 300 to 500 miles of running, so if you start to notice excessive slipping in your shoes, it may be time for a new pair. Using them for other activities or on surfaces they’re not designed for can cause the tread to wear more quickly, which can lead to a feeling of slipping or loss of traction.

We recommend avoiding washing machines and (especially) dryers, but you can hand wash your shoes. Here are some tips as well as a link to an article that goes in greater depth: 1. Brush the bottom of your shoes to remove as much mud and dirt as possible. 2. Remove the shoelaces. 3. Gently use a damp cloth or brush to clean the uppers. 4. Rinse with warm water. 5. Remove the insoles and clean and dry them separately. 6. Stuff your shoes with newspaper. This helps them maintain shape and decreases drying time. Are these good for plantar fascitis with a high arch?

Hi Chelsey. Plantar fasciitis can be tricky to solve with a single shoe as it can be quite different from person to person. Please also keep in mind that we're not doctors and any serious pain or injuries should be discussed with medical professionals. We recommend visiting a local running shop and having your gait and feet analyzed by a Fit Expert. They'll be able to recommend options accordingly. Our shoe styles in our inventory are split into 2 sections, Neutral and Support. The support in running shoes is different than the support of insoles or orthotics. Our Support styles include our GuideRails technology, which supports your whole body in its natural stride while keeping excess movement in check. Insoles or orthotics give you support directly under the arch. Our sock-liners are removable so that you can input your own insole or orthotic to achieve personalized arch support.

Need a ghost shoe with support for my feet, legs and back. I have to wear these shoes on hard concrete in a warehouse lifting boxes all day need recommendations?

I just read a lot of the comments and reviews of the new Ghost 17. I will not try them, unfortunately. I LOVED Ghosts 11-15… particularly the 15’s…the 16’s came out and I am ashamed to say I bought the 16’s from several different stores hoping to get a fit like the 15’s… no luck… I have plantar fasciitis and perineal tendonitis in both ankles and the 15’s worked well with custom orthotics… no luck with the 16’s. Any chance with all the people who liked the 15’s to go back to that design and fit?? Whatever happemed to if it’s not broke??!!!

If you enjoyed the previous versions of the Ghost, we recommend trying the Trace 4 as the fit of the upper and cushion experience may feel similar to the Ghost 15 and previous versions. The Trace 4 is for runners who want reliable, distraction-free comfort they can come back to again and again. Key updates from the Trace 3 to the Trace 4 include DNA Loft v2 cushioning for lightweight softness and an adaptable ride. A new RoadTack rubber tread, made up of a mix of rubber and recycled silica, designed in a segmented crash pads plus sculpted grooves to help absorb impact.

Why can’t you make the cool Colors in narrow?

I understand it is frustrating to not have the colors available that you prefer, and I am more than happy to pass along your feedback to our footwear team for future models. While we would love to be able to produce more colors in all widths across our brand, our shoes are produced on a large scale and the current manufacturing process limits how many widths we're able to produce. Because neutral colors are our highest-selling colors across the board, these are typically what you will see in specialty widths. That being said, I know our current colorways are not what you prefer and we take our runner feedback seriously, so I will be sharing your comments with my teammates who need to see them. What is meant by the 10mm drop?

Hi Sally. The 10mm drop is the height offset between the heel and the toe. Often times we'll refer to it as the heel-to-toe drop.

How do these compare to the Ghost 15 model? Those were a great fit for me - the 16s not so much.

Hey Alyssa, fit-wise, these are slightly roomier in width and roomier in depth as compared to the Ghost 16. If you liked the fit of the Ghost 15, you'll like the fit of the Ghost 17!
