What is the little hook/ stretchy hole on top of the shoe for? It’s located on the tongue between the laces.

Hi Katie. Thanks for reaching out. That elastic piece of fabric is designed to hold your laces in place and keep them drier, by sliding them underneath the band of fabric.

Are these waterproof? Like step in a puddle or rainy day proof?

Hi Kaitlin. The Ghost 16 Weatherized are not fully waterproofed. The Ghost 16 Weatherized shoe includes a DWR treatment that makes them great for all types of weather conditions.

Are the shoes gortex too?

Hi Amanda. The Ghost 16 Weatherized do not have a full Gore-Tex waterproof membrane sewn in. The weatherized version includes a DWR treated upper, making the shoe a little more breathable.
