What kind of heel support does it have?

The Hyperion Max 2 is great for runners looking to train consistently — or to race — in a shoe that has more protective cushioning, with a responsive pop for running at top speeds. Depending on the type of experience you are looking for in the heel, this may be a great option for you with the additional 4mm of cushion to the heel and 6mm to the forefoot from the previous version, as well as a SpeedVault Plate which chances transitions for quick toe-offs.

Should I go half a size up?

Most people find that going up a half size from other brands or casual style shoes will work best. If you have worn other Brooks styles in the past, you should be able to get the same size in this style.
