I wear a size 13 in ghost 12 would it be safe to go with a size 13 in the divide?

Hi Todd! The Divide fits similar to the Ghost 12. If you wear a size 13 in the Ghost 12, we recommend a size 13 in the Divide.

can i use this for winter running?

Could these work well running on roads with snow/ice?

The Brooks Divide works well in running in snow, but may be dicey on ice. The TrailTack rubber in the outsole grips wet surfaces, plus with the tread pattern, this outsole provides an excellent traction.

Is it a shoe for plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis can be tricky to solve with a single shoe as it can be quite different from person to person. Typically, we find shoes with a higher drop from heel to toe, good cushion to take the impact away, and sometimes minimal flex to help in case the other benefits aren't enough for your feet. The first thing to find out is if you pronate or not. Are these good for flat feet?

Comfortable shoes for flat feet ultimately come down to preference, though they are often accompanied by custom insoles/orthotics. You will always want approx. 1/2 in. of space (a thumbs width) between the end of your big toe and the end of the shoe. This often means sizing up your running shoes 1/2 of size from what your normal size. Orthotics can take up additional space within the shoe depending on what it is designed for. I've been wondering about using trail shoes for walking. Currently using Adrenalines for my 6-9 mile walks (3 times a week) on flat dirt, ralatively smooth roads/trails. How would the Divide or the Cascadia work? I am totally satisfied with my Adrenalines but these might be better!? (Information that may or may not be helpful, I'm 75 and 185lbs)

I love the Cascadia for the trails, them seem a little lighter than the divide. However I switch back-and-forth between a cascadia I and the divide because the divide is firmer running in the trails than the Cascadia. You can try the Divide for walking but I think the adrenalines are a better choice than the divide seems a bit heavy if you're running on the road. I run strictly in the woods and a divide is good for that and gives you a lot of support. I thoroughly enjoy all my Brooks shoes Be safe and Good luck

How does it compare to the cascadia? Am I right in thinking that cascadia is really a dedicated trail show while this is more a hybrid?

The Divide and Cascadia are quite similar. Both are dedicated trail running shoes. The major differences are the less aggressive tread found on the Divide and a more approachable look than the Cascadia.

How does this show differ from the Caldera?

The Divide prioritizes a cushioned trail ride and comes in at a 8mm midsole drop whereas the Caldera is purposed for a responsive trail experience with a 4mm midsole drop. In addition, each model has its own unique tread for adapting over changing terrain.
