BlueLine Lab

The brooks blueline lab

Game changing, runner-first technology.

The BlueLine Lab develops innovative prototypes at a sprinter’s pace. Join the Brooks Run Club to hear about our most innovative gear and for opportunities to test products.

Step into the BlueLine Lab

Rooted in science — runner science.

Our biomechanics scientists work alongside runners, listening to their wants, needs, and feedback. Through extensive insights and data, the lab engineers advanced shoe technology.

Breaking PRs in futuristic tech

Because runners are always thinking two steps ahead, we do the same. Through the latest techniques and a streamlined process, the BlueLine Lab rapidly accelerates technology development.

Limit-pushing technology. Limited-edition quantity.

The BlueLine Lab makes huge strides in shoe technology and releases product in small, limited batches. This allows us to deliver advanced shoe technology in half the time.

What makes the BlueLine Lab process so unique?

"The ability to quickly scale and leverage our innovative technologies while venturing into the unknown. We integrate new technologies into full shoes, then release them quickly to market, providing a new, better experience for all who run."

- Bryan Bhark, Senior developer of footwear innovation

BlueLine Lab history

In major marathons, racers follow the blue line — the fastest route from start to finish. Our BlueLine Lab tackles futuristic shoe technology with the same approach, using the fastest path to get advanced prototypes developed and on to the feet of runners. Explore the roadmap of BlueLine Lab shoes, past to present.

The Hyperion Elite features responsive, nitrogen-infused DNA FLASH cushioning and unique carbon fiber propulsion plate to keep you running faster, longer.

Hyperion Tempo
Hyperion Tempo (2020)

The Brooks BlueLine Lab paved the way to better training sessions and new PRs with the revolutionary cushioning process. The Hyperion Tempo’s DNA FLASH cushion is infused with nitrogen, to deliver a fast, super lightweight ride with incredible energy return.

Catamount
Catamount (2020)

With the BlueLine Lab’s streamlined process, the Catamount — a trail shoe developed for max speed and distance — was developed in just 6 months. That’s half the time it typically takes to produce a shoe.
