I am forever cold but I took up running last spring and absolutly love it so I didn't want to sit out of all the winter races and spend all of my time on the treadmill. The winter run series came and I registered and was nervous when the temps here on Long Island started dropping to the teens so I knew I needed something to keep warm. I was hesitant at first because I felt [$] was alot for running pants, I don't even spend that on jeans! But let me tell you it was the best [$] I spent on any of my running clothes. There was snow and ice and it was 25 degrees but I loved every second of the race and it has alot to do with the fact that I was not freezing my bum off! These pants paired with my Ghost GTX and I was warn and dry!! Thank you Brooks! The picture is me and my friend after the race BOTH happy in our Brooks Utopia Thermal Pants!!!

I typically wear my pants quite low (below my belly button and around my hips) and I was bummed that when I put these pants on how I wear my pants, the crotch material was 1/4 of the way down my thigh. I was really hoping they would fit right because the material is SO thick and comfy. So if you wear your pants a little higher, these pants would be perfect!

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
I have been looking for a pair of pants that I could run outside in the colder weather (below 30 degrees) and still feel warm without a lot of bulk. These pants are perfect. They are soft against my skin, no seams to bind and the rise is high enough so I don't feel like I have to pull them up at all during my run! Love them and bought two pair since finding cold weather running gear is always difficult. They are pricey but I am hoping last a while!

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
Great pants for winter! I am an exclusively outdoor runner back and forth between New England & Alaska. These worked well for any weather I have encountered this winter, from minus five to 35 degrees! When you're warm, unzip the nicely reflective ankle zippers, and when cold or in snow just zip them back down. The zippered back pocket was big enough for an ipod, Gu or ID card yet never felt bulky. The articulated knees felt funny at first but weren't noticeable once on the road or trail. I would recommend at least one pair to be in every winter runner's closet! Run happy...

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
As a personal trainer I spend some days in a cold basement and these pants have been great in keeping me warm. I might just take up running outside again. They fit a little funny around the lower leg because of a weird seam but they are very comfortable and warm.

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
They're awesome. I haven't taken them off in like 2 days. I need it to get a little colder to try running in them though, but I know they'll be great. I ordered a medium and I'm 5'6" and 130lbs. They are perfect except just the tiniest bit long, but then my legs are a little shorter and I can actually make do in them quite well. Hope this helps!

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
I love these pants. I love them so much, I kept them even though they are too long for me. I am 5'1" and I am forced to bunch up the bottoms so that the hems don't drag when I run. You can't easily have them altered because of the zippers on the legs. Please, please, please Brooks-make these in a petite size!!!

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
I just wore these in 20 degree weather in Santa Fe, and they were ideal--not too heavy, not too light. Plus they are flattering, and the right length, with a zipper.
However, I am 5' 4", 130 and the small in these fit perfectly. That means that if you're over 5' 5", they're going to be way too short.

Comments about Utopia Thermal Pant:
I planned to wear these when it got below 20 degrees, and wore them for the first time yesterday. I can easily envision wearing them up into the 30s, and will add a base layer if it gets below 8-10.
Since I normally wear tights, I was concerned that these pants would "flap" and be distracting, but that was not the case. They are super-comfortable and I look forward to a lot more runs with these!
