Lean construction fuses with a responsive fit in the PureCadence. For Guidance to Support runners, this shoe delivers more support through smart, streamlined features such as a wider Nav Band that’s locked in to the medial strike pod. A reinforced heel counter secures the foot and the internal PDRB helps prevent overpronation. The PureCadence gives runners who need more stability the chance to experience the feel of a natural foot strike with a lightweight, breathable shoe.
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I am a flat-footed runner with a couple of road marathons and a few ultra trail races under my belt. Though I love running, its always been painful for me. At different intervals I've had issues with my ankles, shin-splints, knee (IBS) and hip pains. Over the past 15 years I've seen a variety of doctors, podiatrists, and physical therapist and even received the professional opinion that I should give up running and try swimming. I've worn orthotics and I've not worn orthotics. I've tried a variety of control and stability shoes including ASICs Kayanos, BROOKS Adrenaline and most recently NEW BALANCE 860. Nothing has compared to the PURECADENCE. So far I went on a 4 mile and an 8 mile run yesterday without orthotics. So, though my overall opinion may be a little premature, I just couldn't help but share my experience.
The shoes are funny when you put them on; they're curved and I felt like I was I was leaning heavily on my heel. While running however, the design actually seemed to propel me forward almost like a rocking- chair motion. I'm not an expert on the exact mechanics, but I could feel that I was running the way I should. The specialty shoes and the orthotics never completely fixed my gait. It always seemed that mid-air my foot was in the right place, but between then and the time it hit the pavement, a war was being waged between the way my foot wanted to land and the way the shoe/orthotic was guiding it. All of this extra stress and movement was removed when I wore the PRECADENCE. I actually ran faster and had a lot more energy. Without any additional effort I literally took a whole minute a mile off my run time. My unnatural gait was obviously consuming a lot of my energy. For the first time since I can remember, I felt refreshed and confident from my run, not drained and frustrated. I'm just thankful that the shoe gods finally got it right for once!

After trying on the Pure Cadence and Pure Flow, both my husband and I decided to each buy the Pure Cadence. I'm training for my first half marathon, so I'm logging about 15-20mi per week. I over pronate and have had a terrible case of ITBS prior to wearing these shoes. I've tried Saucony and Nike in the past. I've used Super Feet inserts, as my ortho told me I have flat feet. Trying on the Pure Cadence, I knew immediately that these were the shoes for me. They are designed in such a way that my body weight shifts forward to the toes and keeps me off my heels. The Pure Flow did the opposite. My weight was shifted back on my heels. Now here we are just 4mos later and the rubber on the heels has PEELED off. I mean, worn so bad it peeled away from the sole of the shoe. There's no black rubber left. I'm not a heavy person (only 118#) and I don't wear them anywhere but on the road for running. I've worn them in the snow when I first got them, so really, they wouldn't have lasted even this long if it was dry conditions only. Speaking of which, be very careful if you wear them on wet roads or sidewalks as you will surely slip. I have fallen twice. These shoes are so comfortable on the inside and have been such a HUGE help in alieviating my knee pain. I just cannot get over the fact that they are worn completely down to the cushion of the shoe. There's no way I'm going to shell out [$] every 4 mos for new shoes. I wanted to love these shoes. I thought I had found that make/model that you rely on for years to come. Instead, I'm very disappointed.By the way, my husband's shoes: worn and peeling on the toes. He has put on 25-30mi per week. His are not as bad in the heel.

I have never been a good runner (for lack of trying) and I'm still very much a beginner. I have always wanted to become a better runner, but couldn't find a good shoe. So, I bought a running magazine for inspiration and found an ad for Brooks shoes. I'd never heard of Brooks so I did some research and spoke with an associate at a store about which of their shoes would be best for me. I have lower arches, bordering on flat feet, and my ankles have the tendency to turn in when I run/walk, and was told that I should try these shoes because they provide that guidance/support that I need. Well they were right.
These shoes have eliminated my need for orthotic inserts, I don't have to think about my foot strike-the shoe makes it feel natural. The soles are curved and I feel like I'm standing primarily on my heels, which was weird at first, but when I start to run its the perfect shape for guiding my foot to the right...everything, for lack of a better word. The shoe has a low profile, great stability and they are very lightweight and comfortable. I have also played racquetball in these shoes and when I would typically be prone to rolling my ankles in other shoes, I have not once rolled my ankles, or come close, while wearing these shoes...although they left black streaks on the court so I wouldn't recommend it. ;)
It has great traction, too, (however I have not had the chance to run in the rain with them and it doesn't snow here so I can't speak to the shoe's traction in those conditions yet); I run early in the morning when its super quiet and not to hot, and I can hear the grip of the shoes echo off the trees around me, it kinda sounds sticky, like tape being pressed on glass and then removed quickly.
Whatever the soles are made of is amazing- its like running on clouds; there is no jarring impact on my ankles or knees, its a soft landing and almost springy reaction--in a good way.
I feel energized at the end of my run, I don't feel pain or discomfort at any point...other than mental agony over my sad lung capacity. =D I can't wait for the days when I get to run, mostly because I have finally found a shoe that supports me in all the right ways and makes running, for the first time ever, FUN for me.
The one kinda negative thing I could say is that it took a couple runs to get used to the Nav Band. I sometimes get too excited and can tie my shoes too tight, which, in combination with the Nav Band can be harmful to the circulation in my feet. Only once have I had to stop to re-tie my shoes. This is not to say that the Nav Band fits tight across my foot, only that I had to adjust my tying practices to be a bit on the looser side (as far as my shoe-tying is concerned), but once I got it right, the shoes overall, fit absolutely perfectly. I'm looking forward to many more magic miles in these shoes. This truly is a quality product from Brooks.

After my first 10 miles I knew these babies were just for me. Initial miles felt high in the arch but resolved after a few miles use. I tend to have IT band and knee issues, very much brought on by the "wrong" shoes. No problems here! Have 290 miles on my first pair (longest run 15 miles) with no physical complaints. Today ordered my second pair to alternate as I train for my first 26.2... Have found to be a bit "moist" after a rainy run, other than that love, love, love! 'em...

I switched to the PureCadence in February after years of wearing Asics and Mizuno. I have flat feet and overpronate, and last year had a severe case of ITBS and Runner's Knee that I couldn't shake no matter what I did. I typically run 35-45 miles/week, and since switching over to the Cadence I haven't suffered any of the nagging injuries that plagued me all last year. I love how light and responsive they are on the road. I would have given them 5-stars, except everyone is right - they lose traction in wet conditions. Otherwise I can't say enough good things about them! They're so comfortable I end up wearing them even when I'm not running. Being more minimalistic I expect to have to replace them more frequently than my other shoes, but for the experience of running injury-free, it's something I am happy to do.

Six weeks ago I had surgery to repair a tendon in my ankle and just got the ok to get back to walking and working out. Normally I am a serious runner having done marathons, half marathons, and several other races. I average 40-50 miles a week. I was looking for something light and comfortable as to not irritate the incision on my ankle. I put these shoes on and they felt amazing. They fit perfectly and didn't rub on my scar. I went for a walk and felt like I'd rather be running. No pain, tightness or anything. These are a miracle. I can't wait to go running in them!

My only other pair of shoes that I've owned since getting serious about running were Adrenaline 11 in wide-width (I was told that I have a mild pronation at a running store after a an analysis of my gate). I was attracted to these because my old shoes needed replacing, and these are fun looking.
The footprint of these shoes and the wide-width Adrenaline are the same (I matched them up at a store). I ordered a half-size up since they're available in one width only. That is where there similarities end--this shoe is everything Brook claims it is. I never noticed how heavy motion-control shoes are until I gave this pair a go. So light! If you run longer, give these your consideration.
They will likely change your run--the first time wearing them I felt my hammies and calves working more than my quads usually do. Since they're a half-size bigger, I sometimes scuff my toe.
Overall I love love love them. Sometimes the motivation for getting out on a run can be as little as a comfy, cool pair of kicks to slip on--that's now working for me :)

I am an avid runner (outdoor & indoor) and exerciser. These shoes go seamlessly from treadmill to outdoor running, and are also great as training shoes. Although minimalistic, the PureCadence offers great support and fits like a glove. I am a slight over pronator (my foot rolls slightly inward when I step) and these shoes make up for that beautifully. I don't miss the additional cushioning of my previous pairs.
My only complaint is that the shoe is quite pricey and wears rather quickly. I imagine that the minimalism is the reason for the shoe wearing down so fast, but the price point doesn't reflect that, as an avid runner will have to replace these about two months faster than an average pair.

I love these shoes very much. I am new to running & just decided to get running shoes last month. I got the PureFlow at first at a local mall store. I wasn't aware that I am supposed to go to a running store to get the right running shoes for me. And a mistake I made, I got the PureFlow at the exact size of my feet. Of course, my feet started to hurt after running a 10 mile with it. I went to a running shoe store. It was then I found out that I had to get shoes 1 size bigger than my actual size since our feet expand when we're running. Well, I am new to running, and I learn new things everyday. =) I was given the Brooks Adrenaline GTS12. I didn't like it coz it feels too stiff. Making me run unnaturally. After running only 3 miles with it, my arches started to hurt. It doesn't feel natural when you run. So, I went back again to the running shoe store. He said that I go for minimalist shoes. So, he then let me try the PureCadence. The guy said that these shoes give support & and at the same time very light weight & feels like running naturally which is what I was looking for. I love it! No pain at all after running 7 miles with it and more to come for the next weeks. The feeling is similar to PureFlow but with much more support. I am very happy with my 2 PureProjects shoes. =) PureFlow for my gym workouts & PureCadence for my running. I like the colors too! I guess I found the athlete in me. =)
