Runners are raving about these shoes – and so is Runner's World! The PureConnect was named "Best Debut" in Runner’s World’s Winter 2012 Shoe Guide in the December issue. The editors said the PureConnect "strikes a balance between barefoot-inspired minimalism and cushioning-required training. It has a lightweight, barely there feel yet is substantive enough to handle long tempo runs."

You'll feel your run from head to big toe with the radically lightweight and flexible PureConnect. Neutral runners who crave less shoe and more freedom will love the maximum breathability of an open mesh upper built on a slim and nimble underfoot.
A split toe groove extends through the forefoot allowing the runner to really engage the foot and get a greater sense of connection to the ground. This is a shoe for those who want as little as possible between them and the road.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I have been running in the Green Silence as my primary shoe for training and racing for the last several years, and was quite excited to see how the PureConnect would stack up to a shoe that I already loved. It has so far met and exceeded all my expectations. I would reccomend this shoe to anyone who is already doing most of their running in flats or minimalist shoes. The biggest thing I noticed is how easy it is to maintain my form and proper strike in these shoes. I have yet to race in these shoes or do any long (20+ miles) training runs, but I suspect they will perform just as well as they have been during my shorter runs.

I was really excited when Brooks finally entered the minimalist movement with their PureConnects. But I was disappointed that Brooks struck out. One of my running buddies and I both purchased these and we both have the same complaints. I have been running with minimalist shoes for over a year and my feet have adapted to the point that I use minimalist shoes running outside and run on the treadmill barefoot. With these shoes my feet actually go numb within 20 minutes of my runs. The reason is because the toe box is too small. Even when not running the toe box squeezed the living daylights out of your toes. The point of the minimalist movement is to allow your feet to act the same way they would if you were running barefoot. When running barefoot your toes spread, requiring a much bigger toe box than a typical shoe. Brooks went into the other direction, not allowing your foot to dictate how you run, but the shoe forcing your foot to run a particular way (basically with a choke hold on your toes). In essence these are not minimalist shoes...

I had my wife order these shoes for me and send them out to Afghanistan where I am stationed. Oh what a difference these shoes made over my New Balance Minimalist running shoe. The terrain I run on is all gravel surface, these shoes soak up the gravel feel so I can now run outside. Before I got these shoes I was stuck in the gym doing treadmill workouts because that was the only surface my 5'10", 235lb frame could handle running on with my NB Minimalist running shoes. The Brooks Pure Connect have the same lightweight feel as the NB Min but yet a nice thicker sole to help soak up the rocky road I can only run on outdoors. These shoes felt great right out of the box and there was no break in time needed. All I can say is great shoe and I will be buying another pair once this pair wears out :-)

Today I did my daily 5 miles wearing my new Pure Connect shoes. It was a really pleasant run. While stationary the shoes felt narrow. Once I started running, though, they felt so right. They're so light. The cushioning felt minimal but not severe. I now have the Pure Flow and the Pure Connect. To me they're both very good running shoe models in the Pure Flow line.

I use these as every day shoes, and they double as track and gym shoes. They are like someone made a mold of your foot and put it in a cool futuristic looking shoe with great cushioning. They flex right at the ball of your foot, so you can grip the ground and really get going.

I went from walking about 3 miles a day to a gradual 8 mi. I have a very bad hip and can no longer run, so I walk - a lot.

I began having pain with the Merrels I had been wearing. I bought a (very expensive) pair of Asics Nimbus because they were recommended for my suppinated stride. After a mile the Asics caused me to have shin splints which had never been an issue with me before and a feeling of bruising on the balls of my feet. I walked by an atheletic store on my way home, went in and nearly ripped off the offending shoes. After the clerk got over the shock of someone hating the Asics, he showed me several other pair, the Brooks among them.

It was the last pair I tried on and the minute I put them on, my feet, my shins and me, instantly relaxed. They told me about Brooks' return policy which was the clincher that I'd wear the Brooks out of the store. I returned the Asics the same day.

No more shin splints, no more ball of foot pain, no more hip pain and my foot doesn't roll to the outside.

I can do 8 miles easily with no foot pain then or later.

I found my signature shoe and have sold my friends on them. Some for running or walking and others for how darn nice they look.

One thing I would give warning about is that if you have low or flat arches, you will need to wear these shoes a little each day until you have acclimated to them. Once you have, you'll live in them (per my son who has absolutely flat feet).

            Thanks Brooks!

I tested them out on a 5 mile run and upon returning home I ordered another pair. Ive NEVER enjoyed a shoe as much as this one. I mainly run on concrete or asphalt 30-35 miles a week and the cushioning for such a light weight shoe is great! my times have improved but more importantly my recovery time after a long run is now ZERO Thank you Brooks

i was in the market for new running shoes and I was interested in the NB Minimus shoes. I went to a local sporting goods store to check out the shoes. I tried on the NB and was pretty confident I was going to buy the NB. As I was walking around with the NB on I noticed on another shelf the Brooks PureConnect. I asked the salesperson about the Brooks and what she thought? She gave me a pair to try on and came back a minute later to see what I thought. To me the NB were as good as mine till the Brooks went on my feet. They felt soooooo much more comfortable than the NB and they are both minimal running shoes. The Brooks had more cushioning in the heal and overall the shoe just felt better. I was sold! The salesperson came by and asked me what I thought of the Brooks? I said "I really like the Brooks." She kinda winked and said "Thats what I'd get."

I didn't get the m from the sporting goods store due to the return policy. If your buying running shoes the only way to really test them is to run in them. Most places won't let you return the shoes after they have been worn out on a run. Brooks has a great return policy...too bad I won't be using it.

When I put these shoes on it was this feeling of Ah-ha! This is what I dreamed of a great running shoe to feel like on my foot. My first run with them confirmed this. The shoes are lighter than my older racing flats and the feel is great, like you actually dont have anything on your foot. With my Spring increase in milage (after skiing much of the Winter) I tend to have some IT band issues, not this year though! I highly recommend this shoe and have been telling all of the athletes i work with to go out and get a couple pairs.
