The design of this shoe is probably the most noticeable right out of the box. The yellows and reds that color the upper and sole are bright and in-your-face and the asymmetric lacing offers a unique look. One of the most striking features of the shoes, however, is the difference between the left and right shoes. The left and right shoes are complete opposites of each other with the red and yellow palates swapped right down to the sole! The result is a shoe that really makes a statement, and that statement is "I'm here to run fast!"
The feel of these shoes is something else entirely. The tongue is integrated into the upper of the shoe, with the lacing traveling down the side of the foot, just off of center. There is also minimal stitching and few overlays resulting in a very comfortable feel to the upper. The soft fabric conforms to the foot remarkably well and I could easily see myself wearing these shoes sockless. The midsole of the shoe is fairly substantial but the cushioning seems a little stiffer than the Launch. One noticeable difference is how flat the sole is, with almost no discernible heel. The insole as well seems to be designed with this in mind as it feels like there is less contouring than the insoles provided in other shoes.
Performance wise these shoes feel like an extension of my foot. The transition from heel to toe is very smooth and the cushioning substantial enough that I do not feel like my stride is hindered even at top speed. These were made with a more midfoot-forefoot strike in mind, but I believe they are substantial enough that a heel strike would not cause many problems. I also think that these would stand up to races as long as the half-marathon, but a marathon may be pushing it for most runners.
All around the Green Silence is a great racing shoe and speed trainer. The comfort of the upper alone makes it worth the hype in my eyes, it really does have a good overall feel.

I'm 120 pounds and run somewhere around 70 miles a week. There was a lot of hype surrounding these shoes and I went out and got them the day after they came out. I'm really not a huge fan, but I don't think they're bad shoes at all. For the flats they are, I think they could be a little lighter. I'm not a fan of the upper at all, it feels to loose. Way too much room in the forefoot area causes all kinds of blistering.

I love running in this shoe - it is minimal, yet provides a bit of cushioning for when my form isn't as good as it ought to be.

Comments about Green Silence:
The toe box on these shoes is HUGE! I never have that problem as my feet are a bit wide but I am swimming in these. Also, if you have high arches avoid these shoes....there is absolutely NO support.

Comments about Green Silence:
Light, very soft, flexible and fast. Great shoe with interesting lace design. Very snug to foot and added rubber to the sole aids in traction greatly while still keeping weight down. Great all around shoe for racing, training, or speed work.

Comments about Green Silence:
The Green Silence shoes are colorful, comfortable, and light overall. I have used these shoes for an ultra run and they performed wonderful. No blisters, or hot spots that caused any issues. I am an avid trail runner and I would have enjoyed a little more tread on the shoes, however I know these are not trail shoes. I would fully support and purchase a Green Silence trail shoe! Otherwise, I highly recommend these shoes for any type of running 5k-ultras.

Comments about Green Silence:
Love the feel and look. Run on the road and a lot on treadmills. I had the black and green ones before - they do tend to wear out pretty quickly, but I don't mind getting new ones.

i really did not enjoy the color scheme of red/yellow - felt a bit like ronald mcdonald. but, they were pretty good/sturdy. the Green Silence really works for me and my feet, and I would highly recommend you give them a try.i was not a huge fan of the lacing though.

Comments about Green Silence:
I have been using these shoes for eleven months, and I have seven pairs! The Green Silence is the premier natural shoe. The cushioning is somewhat firm, but overall the shoe is flexible and fairly responsive among its competitors in the "competition" category. I use it as a daily trainer AND my go-to race shoe for 5k and above.
One of the most attractive features of the Green Silence is the shape of the outsole (this is something I have found Brooks does especially well, in the T6/7, and then in other shoes on the "Universal last" for example). I find that many standard running shoes feature an outsole that protrudes out from the lateral forefoot, far beyond the actual edge of one's foot. In my experience this design has always dramatized the pronation that occurs in my footstrike. The Green Silence has nothing of this: the shape follows the form of my foot, creating a perfect medium that provides an ideal road feel without forcing any extra motion through my ankles.
Some reviewers have noted the generous forefoot/toebox area. I think this is a positive. Runners generally size up their shoes anyway, and the particularly roomy forefoot is not only comfortable, but I suspect it is probably healthy for the metatarsals to be able to splay outward without the constriction that some attribute to the development neuromas. Perhaps the feel is simply unusual, because the security around the ankle is still just fine.
Ultimately this shoe almost creates a category of its own: not a "cushioned" or typical "neutral" shoe, but infinitely more forgiving than, for example, spikeless XC shoes. It may be too little for shoe some runners, but it is worth the experience for everyone.

Comments about Green Silence:
These shoes are a great race flat for the heavier runner and a great light weight trainer on the days you want to fly! The only problem is with the lacing. It seemed to not stay tight, nothing some elastic laces didn't fix. I think these are the best shoes in the line up for triathlons due to the great light ride and easy entry with the one piece tongue.

Comments about Green Silence:
Took some getting used to at first, mostly because of the lacing. Once I figure out how to customize the lacing to best fit me (looping through the holes on the top of the tongue), I really started liking these for tempo runs and for road races. I like the full length sole, provides a good cushion feel but it's also firm enough to feel fast and responsive.

I use this shoe mainly for tempo workouts and have raced a marathon in them. It has the perfect feel of a flat-trainer hybrid, and it's ecological!

Merchant response: Sorry these racing flats didn't work out for you! You may prefer a more supportive shoe.
