This is the 9th year I have used Brooks Adrenaline line. Its not for your average athlete, Ill admit, but its PERFECT for the average RUNNER! Its a wonderful make: perfect hugging arch, corrects my slight over pronation, comfortable and they keep the support without the bulk! I used to have horrible shin splints and Thanks to the Brooks Adrenaline series: NO MORE! I have been a completely healthy (and happy) runner! I run cross country and Im a collegiate 800 Runner and I wouldnt run a day without my Brooks.

I am a marathoner, recently turned ultra-marathoner. I have been wearing Adrenaline's since 2006. And they have been amazing. My favorite model is the 9. I have been wearing the 11's for a little over a month now. By the end of the 4th week I could barely run. Extreme foot pain: to the point that they cramped up during a 15 mile run. I had to hobble back to my car the last 3 miles afraid I was going to tear something. Very bad knee pain ( I have never had problems with my knees). And an old injury I had in my left hip (it was completely rehabbed by my physical therapist) returned with a vengeance.
My physical therapist (who loves Brooks as much as I do) told me that I can't wear these shoes anymore. All of my injuries were from wearing the shoes, not from a problem with my running form.
He said the new 11's are lacking the awesome arch support of its past models. If you look at the 11's, the inside of the shoe (not the shoe insert) is all soft fabric ~ whereas the older models had plastic/rubber bands that wrapped around the shoe to hold your arch. This lack of essential arch support was the culprit of my injuries. As my PT said "the wheels fell off".
He recommended I try out the new Ravenna 2. I am hoping they are a good fit. I really love Brooks running shoes and I can't image putting all my miles into something else. I really did love the 11's at first. Very comfortable, but for the type of work I put into the shoe... its just not for me. So my love affair with the Adrenaline's has come to an end.
What I don't understand, is why did Brooks have to drastically change something that was so good to begin with??? I'm going to miss my Adrenaline's.

This is an amazing shoe. I have no arch, and am prone to over pronate pretty bad. This shoe was night and day from those I've purchased in the past. It took my feet a few days to get used to them. But once they did, my running certianly improved, and my shin splints decreased. Proir to ordering, I went to a retailer to try them on first, and ended up needing a half size larger then I wear in dress shoes/sandals. I also went with the wide to offer some wiggle room. Worth every penny and then some. Thanks Brooks! Keep up the great work!
My only suggestion, try them on first, or order a half size up!

I wear these shoes as often as possible. They're good for walking, running, aerobics. They are hands down, the best shoes I've ever owned. After having my third child, I noticed that I developed over-pronation, and was experiencing sharp lower back pains as a result of it. I went to my local specialty shoe shop where they evaluated my feet and fitted me with these shoes. The pain disappeared almost instantaneously and has not returned. I will never go back to buying gimmicky shoes again. And I will always go to a specialty shoe store to get properly fitted with shoes. Both my husband and brother-in-law got fitted at the shoe store (Running With E's) and they too had similar experiences. My husband bought a pair of Brooks shoes (and my brother-in-law purchased Izumi's.)

I walk regularly and these shoes are awesome! They have great arch support and can be laced nice and tight. Have had past problems with knees due to ill fitting shoes. Once I purchased a pair of Brooks I no longer had knee pain.Several pairs later and there is no turning back, I am a loyal Brooks fan!

I used to purchase Nike and Asics running shoes, until I was fitted for a pair of Brooks GTS shoes in the year 2005. I attempted other brands after my first Brooks purchase, but no shoes provided me the comfort that the Brooks running shoe provided. Since 2005, I have continued to purchase a pair of Brooks Gym shoes, from the GTS line, every 6 months.
The GTS line have been great in providing me knee, ankle, and back support. Since I have a bad lower back, and flat feet, this extra support has provided a more comfortable run on the sidewalks around my neighborhood. I use them in all weather conditions too! I will continue to purchase Brooks GTS running shoes for years to come!
