Experience the next best thing to naked feet with the hyper-light PureDrift. Spread those toes with two split grooves that allow your forefoot to flex through its three functional units. A hardly-there upper has a close fit and provides a little more coverage than a birthday suit. When you really want to feel free as a bird, remove the sockliner for a zero drop experience. Feet, meet feel.

Please note: The PureDrift was designed with a wider toe box than other Brooks shoes. If you prefer a more snug fit, size down half a size.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

Simply put, a great shoe for those that can wear a TRUE minimalist shoe! I've been running in the Green Silence for a couple of years now and went very minimalist to incorporate the Vibram Bikila and the ultra featherweight Saucony Hattori into my lineup. This shoe feels SIGNIFICANTLY better in every way from the upper to the scarce rubber covered foam sole. Overall construction is top notch--exactly what I would expect from Brooks Flagship Line.

Incorrect footstrike is punished with an awkward feel, but a proper midfoot/forefoot strike is rewarded with a quick and responsive toe-off. My Vibram Bikila may be a more form fitting shoe, but the PureDrift feels as connected and just as natural in an extremely attractive package.

I was sad to see the Green Silence be discontinued and I'll still use those for 15+ mile runs, but my PureDrift will be my new daily driver and interval shoe going forward. Looking forward to getting another pair soon to incorporate into my weekly routine. I've done up to an 11-miler in them and they were phenomenal the entire run.

I wear each shoe only one run per week. I average between 60-90 miles per week durng peak training season and I run 2-a-days 4 days per week and cross train 3 days per week all year long. My current lineup includes PureDrift, Saucony Hattori, Vibram Bikila, Green Silence x 5, PureConnect & PureGrit.

I bought this as a race shoe to complement the Pure Connect (of which I'm on my third pair). The shoe fits a little funny, its a good shoe for a minimalist fan - big open toe box, low to the ground, etc. I'm looking more for a true racing shoe though, and there are just too many good competitors out there with better shoes for me. The top does bunch up a bit by the toes and makes a squeaking/popping sound that is a bit off, I still don't feel I gain anything from the gimmicky nav band or split toe box. For being a 5-6oz shoe, I don't feel it is as padded as the NB MRC1600 or the Nike Zoom Streak LT, and it isn't as light as the Wave Universe 4. Again, there's just too much competition out there for this shoe to make it into my rotation.

Love them after my first run

I have been wearing NB Minimus for the last 3 years, going through many different pairs, both road and trail versions. I wanted to try something with a bit more forefoot cushioning, and from what I could tell these seemed to fit the bill.

I have always been a mid/fore foot lander, so I prefer something with less drop (at least <= 8mm).
After putting these on without socks and walking a bit in the house, my first impression was that I was going to have a problem with blisters. There seemed to be some rubbing on the inside arch area, where the tongue kind of wraps around my foot. I was worried enough that I brought a pair of socks on my run so I could put them on when I started to have problems. But, I was wrong, I didn't feel a thing during the entire 5.5 mile run.

I usually have a problem with wear on the outside of my left foot cause of the way I land, and kind of scuff my left foot (I think I am just lazy on the left side). In looking at the bottom after this first run, I don't see any wear on the black area on the outsole in that spot.

These really do feel like they propel you a little when landing and pushing off on the forefoot. In fact I sprinted the last 3/4 mile I felt so good (8 min pace, I am a slow runner).

I have pretty wide feet, which is why I always have gone with New Balance, as they are really good about making wide sizes. Try to find wide sized in any zero drop shoe, it is almost impossible, but these had plenty of room, and did not feel tight at all. I could feel the side of the shoe a bit much in the arch area, but when running and landing on the forefoot, this is not even noticeable. I just will not be wearing this around as a casual shoe at any point, which I don't normally do with my running shoes anyhow.
Overall I don't have anything negative to say about these shoes. Hopefully I will feel the same way after my long run this weekend, and another 100 - 200 miles of wear on them.

I have very flat and extremely wide feet. I went to my local Varsity Sports store at Elmwood fitness and found these gyms. I fully expected to not even find shoes in my width in store, normally its a special order for me. These fit PERFECTLY in the mens shoe size! They feel natural and thats amazing to find a shoe that fits these feet like a glove!

Good minimalist shoe, but has a bit too much control and cushioning. The motion control doesn't allow the foot to move naturally in the heel and the shoe is a bit squishy. Also, it is rather wide. My laces cinch together on this shoe which is not a problem on other running shoes.

Having said that, it is a lightweight comfortable shoe that is a good entry into minimalist running. I switched to Brooks from another brand because of fit and durability issues with the other brand. This shoe is good enough for me to stick with Brooks for a while.

Oh, and FYI, there is mesh on the underside, so any water you step in will go right into the shoe.

I prefer a lightweight shoe. I used to wear the Nike Niobe (hope I spelled that right) back in the day. I hadn't found a shoe as light as the Niobe until I found the PureDrift.

I use these shoes as my competition shoe. I train in other shoes during the week. I absolutley love these shoes and always look forward to put on the PureDrift.

I'm practicing Chi Running and Have been using low offset shoes for 2 years, this shoes seemed to be wide enough to help me with my feet. They fit like a glove and were incredibly flexible and light, I started using them gradually and was SO happy with them untill the day I extended training to 10 miles, then the elastic lace and a stitch in the middle made me a severe and large blister. The front is wide but the middle is tight. It really is sad, one should not wait for the feet to get used to the problems of the shoe.

Everytime i run over 4 miles with these shoes i get blisters on the insides of both feet, to the side and slightly behind of the ball of my foot. I looked in that area and underneath the the insert is a little square box of sewn material. I dont know if this causes the problem or not. My guess is that they are bunching up near the area when my foot strikes. Anybody know of anything that would help.

I use this shoe to work out in as well as go running. While every day use and walking around the gym was nothing to write home about (I don't know why a running shoe would be...), when I go running out on the road is when this shoe truly hits its wheelhouse. While the shoe works my leg muscles in a different way than previous shoes, I always find myself making excuses to run longer even though I may be getting tired. On trails I find it difficult to enjoy this shoe simply because of the mixed terrain around my area, but when on even ground this is without a doubt my favorite shoe I've had in a long time.
