I wanted something to be really comfortable on my long runs. At first, I kind of thought the shoe was a bit bulky and heavy, but as I have broke the shoe in I just love it. It really is just a plush ride, gives an extra spring to the stride, and stands up to long runs. I am very happy running in these new shoes. Plus for me personally, the shoe box is roomy. I use to run in asics for years and kept having pinkie toe problems, like it would feel irritation...but since I've switched to this shoe that problem has gone away.

It was very disappointing that my pair of Brooks Glycerin 9 developed a hole in the upper mesh after only 6 weeks. I would expect a product with such a high price tag to last far longer, considering the shoes were only used on a recreational fitness basis.

Comments about Glycerin 9:
Comfortable. Fits great (I always get a size bigger in Brooks) I have the previous version and it was great but I think this one is better.

I love the glycerin 7 and 8. I don't know what has happened to the 9. The shoe wears out quickly. Everything else is great!

Comments about Glycerin 9:
Initially I went to a retail store to purchase another brand of sneakers. The sales person insisted I try these on 1st. I absolutely feel in love with them immediately!! They didn't have my size in the color I wanted but my parents were with me and they ended up ordering online so I received them as a surprise for my birthday!!! Best gift ever. Thanks Brooks....I'll be back!

Comments about Glycerin 9:
This is my second pair of Glycerin 9's. I tried another shoe in between and ended up shelving them and ordered my second pair of Glycerin's. I do not have pronation but wear orthotics. I feel like a gazelle when I wear these shoes. LOVE THEM!

Comments about Glycerin 9:
What did happened to this shoes? The glicerin 8 was a dream. I felt so comfortable during my marathons, I did run the Swiss Alpine marathon with that shoes and now the new one doesn't have any arch support, it feels like running without shoes, it's just feels completely flat. This shoe can be nice for 5 km run or maximum 10 km or can be nice for a gym but for a marathon? Forget it.

Comments about Glycerin 9:
I run mostly on pavement. I loved the 8's, but couldn't get them so I tried the 9's. The first pair was defective - which I found 3 miles into my run and wound up with a severe blister. I traded them in and I feel like I have to recover after each run. My ankles hurt, I get pain on the side of my leg. And they right fits significantly different from the left in not a good way. So they feel true to size, but I think they fit narrower in the arch area than the 8's. Look at the reviews. Runners loved the 8's. Why did you change?

Comments about Glycerin 9:
I've broken my foot twice in the same spot. When I run in most shoes, after a few mins, my foot starts to ache. These are the only shoes I've found that keep that from happening. They are the best shoes I've ever owned. A bit spendy, but worth it!

Comments about Glycerin 9:
I love these shoes!
I recently started running. My beginner pair of shoes (a good 3+ years old)caused my feet to numb and contributed to shin splints and ankle and knee pain. I decided to visit a running store for advice on a good shoe for me. After determining that my gait is normal and that a neutral shoe would be best for me, the store associate brought out the Glycerin 9's in the Black/Blue color as well as 8 other shoes. I am not a huge fan of black shoes, but I bought them on the spot after trying on all 8 different shoes. These were, hands down, the most comfortable shoe I tried on out of all of them.
After a few runs in these shoes, I have not had any of the issues I once had. The toe box is roomy and I have not had any numbness in the sides of my feet or my toes as a result. They fit perfectly and the back of the shoe does not rub like the Ghost 3s did. They have a great road grip. The first time I took these shoes to the road, it was raining. I haven't had any issues with them on many different surfaces including a track, asphalt, cement, and light trails.
I highly recommend these shoes. They are my motivation to get out and run! I hope to run many many miles in these shoes and will definitely be buying them again.

Comments about Glycerin 9:
Both of my feet have bone spurs in the heels, and I'm 100% flat footed. I walk 5 miles daily and my feet started to hurt. This went on for 5 months. Got cortisone shots in both heels. No improvement. I was so upset. My son told me that his Brooks sneakers were great (he's a runner). I bought a pair. That's 6 months ago, and I've got NO PAIN at all. Walking again 5 miles a day :-) Thank you !
