Following in the footsteps of the Ghost 3, the Ghost 4 was deemed "Editor's Choice" in Runner's World’s Fall 2011 Shoe Guide in the September issue. Runner’s World described the Ghost 4 as "a lightweight shoe with a snug fit," noting that "the Ghost has a fast feel and a surprisingly springy midsole that supplies just a bit of stability."
Now friendlier than ever, this super-balanced wonder is at the heart of our Neutral collection, making it the "go-to" shoe for a plethora of runners. Now with Brooks® DNA, the new and improved Ghost 4 adds customized cushioning to its already generous comfort arsenal, plus Omega flex grooves for extra flexibility. Runner’s World said, "Whether you go fast or slow, this versatile shoe can handle whatever workouts you dish out." Take them for a spin and you’ll become a believer.
Love the Ghost but hate running in the rain? The Ghost GTX is now available. Everything you love about the Ghost, but with a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® membrane to keep your feet dry and comfortable. No more blaming it on the rain!

I was a die hard Nike+ wearer until I started running more. When it was time to get new shoes my local running store suggested I try some other brands to see what I thought. This was the first pair I put on and was hooked immediately. Aside from them having my favorite color on them (the aqua color... you should have heard the squeel of delight when I first saw them), when I put them on the very first thing I noticed was how light weight they were. When I walked in them across the store to the treadmill to do the gait analysis I felt like I wasn't wearing shoes at all. Then as I ran for over 5 minutes on the treadmill I couldn't get over the comfort and feel. I ended up wearing them out of the store I loved them so much. Now a month and a half into wearing them for running I honestly can't imagine wearing anything else. I am considering buying a second pair SOON!

I love the Ghost 3. Sadly the Ghost 4 is so different it injured me. On the surface the Ghost 3 and the Ghost 4 look the same but internally there os something very different. I wore a 9 in the Ghost 3 and the I had to go up to a 9.5 in the 4 and it still pressed oddly on the outside front part of my foot. After running in them for 2 miles, the pain had traveled to the inside front ankle and my calf felt oddly numb. Afterwards it took two days to recover. I have never ever had pain from shoes (as opposed to injury) that didn't stop when I took them off. A friend who loved the Ghost 3 also reported that he was unable to run in the Ghost 4 without pain. The only positive change to the shoe was the DNA cushioning which is very nice.

Comments about Ghost 4:
The shoe is categorized as Neutral, however it is definitely intended for someone who pronates. Since I don't, it causes a very akward angle for my foot which puts pressure on the outside of my foot and toes.

Comments about Ghost 4:
My doctor asked me to get this shoe to help with my plantar faciitis and bursitis. (I also have heel spurs.) The pain is not totally gone yet, but it is much better after two weeks of wear. I am thrilled and am looking forward to even more improvement!

Comments about Ghost 4:
I had purchased the Black Gortex Ghost and liked them a lot. Very comfortable and supportive. The Ghost 4 is nothing like the Gortex Ghost. No support. Had to return them.

Comments about Ghost 4:
I almost sent these back when I first tried them on because they felt like they lacked cushion and support. I'm glad I gave running in these a try. I just started wearing orthotics because of numerous foot problems. I am training for a half marathon, I have had no foot pain since I started wearing them and will most likely purchase them again.

Comments about Ghost 4:
This is my 3rd pair of Ghost 4 running shoes. I have never experienced any foot problems. The only thing that scares me about this running shoe is if Brooks decides to discontinue them!

Comments about Ghost 4:
I wore these shoes to train and run my first marathon. I currently own a pair for the gym and one for the road. If you wear them indoors the cushion is especially comfortable! I've always had shoes that gave some sort of support in the arch although they claimed to be neutral. This shoe truly is completely neutral and it's also the most attractive shoe I've owned.

Comments about Ghost 4:
I am a Fitness Fanatic! I play tennis, ultimate frisbee, bike and run an average 20-30 miles a week. I can't have injuries slowing me down! With an academic background in Health Science, I'm especially sensitive to taking care of my body in hopes to continue participating in activities I love. The Ghost 4 is amazingly versatile and I have not experienced any post-activity pain, unlike other shoes I have purchased. And a pair came in my favorite color! My Green Ghost's were the best thing to bloom this Spring!

Comments about Ghost 4:
I have had runners rave about these shoes and I was very disappointed. The balls of my feet hurt so bad after running 3 miles. The heel cushion is fine but it feels like there is no cushion in the foot at all.

Comments about Ghost 4:
I use these as multi-pupose shoes for the gym, kickboxing and cardio dance class. The smaller box keeps my feet stable so I don't slide around and get blisters like I used to. Great cushioning and support for the quick movements and jumps.
