"I wasn’t sure what to expect from myself going into Zegama, and I knew it would be one of the most competitive races of my life. I went out pretty hard in the top 10 but stayed controlled on the early climbs to save energy for later in the race. That turned out to be a perfect strategy: I hovered in around 6th place for most of the race and was able to attack the final descent into Zegama, catching Kilian, Remi, and Manuel to secure a podium position behind Daniel and Elhousine. To sneak onto the podium in my Zegama debut is a dream come true. I will definitely be back!”
