Our shoes offer different experiences based on how they feel while running: Cushion shoes offer a soft, float-like feeling, while Energize shoes offer a springy, bouncy feel. Speed shoes feel fast and lightweight — perfect for races, while Trail shoes are designed to feel stable and comfortable on off-road surface.
Within any experience category, different shoes have varying levels of that experience: some may have a little less, while others have an amplified experience. For example, within Cushion, the Ghost offers soft, balanced cushioning whereas the Glycerin provides super soft cushioning.
Support has to do with how much your body deviates from its natural movement pattern when you shift from a relaxed, natural state to your running stride. Our research shows that runners are generally either high deviators or low deviators. Brooks support technologies aid high deviators by guiding their body back into their natural way of moving. High deviators may prefer shoes labeled with "Support" or "Max Support." Low deviators often find that "Neutral" shoes work best for them.

Ultrafast. Ultralight. Ready to race
Always pushing, never settling.
Our updated nitrogen-infused DNA FLASH midsole balances its ultra-lightweight material with energy return and durability for long-lasting speed.
- DNA FLASH is our lightest, fastest cushioning and is built to last 200-400 miles.
- Our cushioning technologies all start with DNA because they react to your unique stride.
Your best stride, every stride.
A relatively broad midsole and our unique carbon fiber propulsion plate work together to keep the runner in their preferred motion path, saving energy to help you run faster for longer.
Our Rapid Roll technology — the curved sculpting of the heel and toe of the midsole — combined with the carbon fiber plate is constructed to propel you forward with effortless speed.
Origin stories: the Hyperion Elite
In 2017, our innovative BlueLine Lab set out to create a race day shoe for runners focused on crushing their PRs. Through rigorous biomechanics testing, we developed the key components to the perfect race-day shoe: DNA FLASH, a soft, ultralight nitrogen-injected midsole foam, and a unique carbon fiber plate. The combination of the broad foam base and plate allows runners to save energy so they can run faster for longer.
We delivered a secret prototype to Des Linden just 4 days before the 2018 Boston Marathon. Wearing the shoe, Des won the race, becoming the first American woman champion in 33 years.
