Support has to do with how much your body deviates from its natural movement pattern when you shift from a relaxed, natural state to your running stride. Our research shows that runners are generally either high deviators or low deviators. Brooks support technologies aid high deviators by guiding their body back into their natural way of moving. High deviators may prefer shoes labeled with "Support" or "Max Support." Low deviators often find that "Neutral" shoes work best for them.

Origin stories: the Hyperion Elite
In 2017, our innovative BlueLine Lab set out to create a race day shoe for runners focused on crushing their PRs. Through rigorous biomechanics testing, we developed the key components to the perfect race-day shoe: DNA FLASH, a soft, ultralight nitrogen-injected midsole foam, and a unique carbon fiber plate. The combination of the broad foam base and plate allows runners to save energy so they can run faster for longer.
We delivered a secret prototype to Des Linden just 4 days before the 2018 Boston Marathon. Wearing the shoe, Des won the race, becoming the first American woman champion in 33 years.
