Free your feet and embrace the trail with the PureGrit. Working with ultramarathoner Scott Jurek, we developed a unique one-piece outsole that has a concave shape. When forces are applied, the piece splays out to provide a more balanced lay-down. A sleek grip lug pattern and wide base protect the feet but still allow the runner to get in touch with the ground. Top it off with an ultralight mesh and conforming foam upper for a fit that really hugs the foot.
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

Love these shoes. Wore them yesterday for a 50k trail race with rocky, gravely, technical, smooth, soft, muddy, frosty, grassy, and dusty trails with big climbs and big descents.
Highlights:
1. Lightweight without feeling like you have less shoe. A lot of the other lightweight trail shoes are so little shoe that you have to tip-toe around some of the rocky, rooty, gnarlier sections of more technical trails. Don't worry about that with the PureGrit; you'll have confidence to attack the trail.
2. Ideal Heel. The biggest surprise was the Ideal Heel. It was really noticeable on some of my technical descents when I felt like I had more control over my foot strike. It seemed to allow a much smoother, fluid contact with the ground.
3. Comfort. Fit like a glove.
Considerations:
1. Navband. My foot must be a little narrow because after tightening up the laces the navband had some slack in it. Not sure if it's doing anything to give me a snug fit.

At the hint of moisture put these shoes away. I have had these shoes since January and have slipped on rocks, roots and mud, although they handle well on loam. My street runners have better grip. I also have the pure flow and love them, I can't wait for the groung to dry a bit so I can safely run some of my favorit trails.

great looking midfoot strike type/minimalist shoe with modern and topnotch materials combined with the sleek profile and great comfy ride in both road(surprisingly considering the shape and distribution of lugs) and trail surfaces and it feels light too.the only gripe that i have is that odd looking elastic material across the top of the shoe??it dont look good!!

I love how light these are, and they fit like a glove. Breathes & drains water very easily. Slightly wide in the front if you have narrow feet.

I use them for both the street and the trail, probably the best pair of running shoes I've ever laced up!

Love these shoes! I wore these shoe during a recent 50 mile race on trails~ My feet felt wonderful during the entire race! They were light enough not to bog me down and yet had enough cushioning. Good for both street and trail. My only complaint is not enough traction if running on wet surfaces.

I am new to trail running and really enjoy it. I'm in the process of training for my first Xterra triathlon and wanted a lightweight, responsive shoe that will make me look faster than I really am and this shoes meets my criteria. I don't get the purpose of the green band going across the tongue of the shoe, but its there.

As soon as I got these home I took them out for a spin. 8 miles later my feet felt great. I'm a fan of running shoe minimalism and these shoes fit the bill. Performed great and I would highly recommend.

This is a great shoe as it meets all but one of my criteria. The shoes are (IMO) attractive, lightweight, breathable, appropriately cushioned. But they have very low traction on wet pavement.
Great for dry use. Haven't taken them on a trail yet, but I doubt I will since I live in Seattle, and most run/hikes I do have lots of slippery roots.
