On July 18th, 2026, Brooks Beast Josh Kerr will attempt to break the mile world record in London in front of a crowd of 60,000. Set on British soil, this attempt carries both personal and cultural significance. Josh will need to run the mile in 222 seconds to beat the longstanding, 27-year record and take the mile home. This is Project 222.

Josh grew up in the UK in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2015, he takes gold at the European Junior Championships, marking his arrival as a major international talent.
