WACHAU MARATHON by Brooks 2026

One of Europe's most beautiful and fastest marathon routes meets true community power. On September 12–13, 2026, the Wachau region will become your running stage.

Where Performance Meets Panorama

With Brooks, your experience begins long before the starting gun and ends far beyond the finish line: from race number distribution to the Test & Try Area to the Cheering Zone along the route. At the Expo in Vienna and at the Brooks Hub, we create space for encounters, personal advice, and a joint warm-up during the Shake-Out Run. Thousands of runners pursue a common goal and transform the region into a lively running experience. Energetic Cheering Zones, emotional finishes, and genuine goosebump moments included.

Whether it's a personal best or a personal milestone, it's all about exercise, health, and the unforgettable feeling of being part of something bigger.

Distances and Route

Marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, relay, Nordic walking, or junior marathon—all routes run through one of Austria's most stunning regions. The course follows the Danube through the UNESCO-listed Wachau, combining performance with breathtaking panoramic views.

 

Starting in Emmersdorf, the marathon heads downstream via Spitz and Weißenkirchen to the finish in Krems. Flat, fast, and rhythmic—perfect for PBs. Paved paths, vineyard vistas, and world heritage atmosphere make every kilometer count.

Ready for Wachau?

We’re kicking things off on Tuesday, September 8, with a Shake-Out Run including Test & Try at the RunInc Store in Vienna from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

On Wednesday, September 9, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, you can pick up your race bib and visit the Brooks Expo Booth at Raiffeisen Haus in Vienna. You can also redeem your voucher at the RunInc Store during this time. On September 12 and 13, you’ll find the Brooks Area at Krems City Park as well as the Brooks Booth in the Exhibition Hall in Krems.

Opening hours are 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. The Kids Run starts at 3:00 PM on Saturday. On Sunday, September 13, the Quarter Marathon starts at 9:30 AM in Achleiten, followed by the Half Marathon at 10:00 AM in Spitz, while the Marathon & Relay also start at 10:00 AM in Emmersdorf.

From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Brooks Cheering Zone, together with the werun.krems Run Crew, will bring plenty of good vibes and support to runners at the entrance to Krems.
