Lace it up a little tighter

I got these shoes today and hit the trail close to my house. It rained last night so the trail was sloppy muddy. These shoes felt great. Good grip. Rocks and roots were there but the shock was well distributed. Compared to the previous generation of this shoe the material in the upper has a little more flex and give, it isn't as stiff. Rocks and roots were there but the shock was well distributed. Compared to the previous generation of this shoe the material in the upper has a little more flex and give, it isn't as stiff. Thus you should lace them a little tighter than you would otherwise. I like this tongue a lot more as well. It is trimmed down, but very comfortable and breathable. It was 92 degrees and humid, but my feel felt good. These shoes feel a tad lighter than the previous ones, but that might be in my head. The colors were appreciated as well. I chose the gray and navy and like these colors a lot more than the orange and blue before. Overall great shoe and looking for more than 300 miles on them. Read More

A great shoe, but...

A great shoe, but with only about 60 miles on them, the second eyelet (between the tabs) tore through on a moderate uphill. I've never had that happen on a shoe before. Certainly didn't expect it on a workhorse like the Cascadia. The laces don't hold tight enough to run in anymore.

50k Right out of the box

Have been using Cascadia's for many years. Cascadia 13's have been the most comfortable, stable feeling trail shoes I have used. First time I put them on was for a 50k race. They performed perfectly. Great traction on dry, wet and muddy surfaces. No hot spots, no blisters. Will buy again (looking at the 14's to see if wide is even better).

Pretty good shoe

I have never found a brand that produces a more comfortable shoe. That being said, I am an individual who likes cushioning and I feel these could have a bit more. When I bought my first road shoe from brooks, they were the most comfortable shoe I've ever had. I have never found a brand that produces a more comfortable shoe. That being said, I am an individual who likes cushioning and I feel these could have a bit more. When I bought my first road shoe from brooks, they were the most comfortable shoe I've ever had. Since then, I've felt the shoes Brooks produce have become less cushioned in the toe region (even the later versions of that original shoe I bought). Also, as a person with big feet, I feel I have a bone to pick with the shoe industry in general; when you have bigger feet, your feet tend to be wider and shoe companies rarely consider this. Larger shoe sizes are either not proportionally wide enough or don't sell wide versions of those lager shoes. Brooks are a little better than most, but there's still room for improvement. Beyond that it's a great shoe that's highly durable and pretty water resistant. I also love the little pouch on the tongue for the laces. Read More

The Cascadia 13's are as awesome as the 12's!

I'm a landscaper and I use them for work. They are light and durable, but most of all comfortable.
