Good product, would buy again

I use this shoe for walking and it was comfortable straight out of the box. I chose it primarily because it was available in extra wide fit (not many are!), so far very pleased.

Bought to deal with painful corns...

I spend most of my work-life standing, sometimes for 10 hours straight. Lazing around at home, i would wear Crocs or slippers. I have slight over-pronation and very painful corns on the ball and corner of my foot that mean i'm unable to walk barefoot without pain. I previously had a pair of Nike Air zoom Structure 15s that worked perfectly to hold my weight where i was comfortable, but that…

I spend most of my work-life standing, sometimes for 10 hours straight. Lazing around at home, i would wear Crocs or slippers. I have slight over-pronation and very painful corns on the ball and corner of my foot that mean i'm unable to walk barefoot without pain. I previously had a pair of Nike Air zoom Structure 15s that worked perfectly to hold my weight where i was comfortable, but that line of shoes has changed now so as to be not the same shoe. I bought these books on the strength and number of the positive reviews from people who said they helped with their foot issues. My experience after 2-3 weeks of daily wear is this : Day 1 : some rubbing on one of my toes (which clench upwards on the right due to the pain from the ball of foot corn), and i feared i had purchased a pair of shoes that wouldn't work for me. Days 2-5 : i persevered, and the rubbing stopped, i was pain free, but my feet ached at the end of the day. I could tell, though, that this was pain due to the shoes shifting which muscles were working in the way the shoes held me upright. Day 6 to today : i no longer switch from my shoes to my crocs at the end of shifts. For solidly made, full leather shoes that are pretty enclosing, i am genuinely quite amazed to be able to join other reviewers i read who said that you forget you are wearing them. I treat my corns as before, but these shoes are perfect for me, giving me no reason to worry about pain from my feet at work or afterwards. I often wear them up to 14 hours a day with no niggles or aches from my feet during or after these long shifts. I couldn't be more pleased to have bought my Brooks Addiction walkers and believe i have found a shoe for life. I may try their Adrenaline walkers next. One caveat : the tongues are a little too short, meaning the top laces sometimes sit proud of the tongue top, but this doesn't affect anything so was not worth the loss of a star. I bought a size 11.5 although i normally take 11 - perfect fit. Thanks. Read More

Very comfortable

Very comfortable walking shoe. Would have preferred a smooth leather upper but performance is more important than looks.
