Coach Retzlaff has been coaching for years and has built a supportive and encouraging environment. She treats her athletes like family, providing support, encouragement, and practical assistance. In one example where she goes above and beyond, “It is given that not everybody is lucky enough to buy their own spikes, Coach Retzlaff have spikes and throwing shoes for us to borrow that she bought using her own money. Not only that when cross country came, she never failed to remind us to dress “warm” but we’re just teenagers that would often forget to bring them, Coach Retzlaff will always have extra socks or sweats for us.” Coach Retzlaff selflessly sacrifices her time and resources to support her athletes, providing transportation, equipment, and personalized training plans. Her unwavering commitment to her athletes is just one of the many reasons she was selected as the Inspiring Coach of the Year for Track & Field.
