Coach Benham has been going above and beyond for years for the cross country team at La Jolla High School where she consistently goes beyond the standard expectations of a coach, organizing additional training sessions and team-building activities. One of her nominators noted, “Her hard work and wisdom will be passed down through the athletes she has coached. Because of this our team will go further than ever thought possible. Her advice will be definitely remembered by me; she helped me realize my true passion, something that I will cherish forever, and can never be taken away. I will always have a special fondness for the two years I’ve had with Mandy.” She has the ability to inspire and motivate her athletes, pushing them to reach their full potential both on and off the run.
