Loyal Cascadia Runner

I have been running in Brooks Cascadia for a few years now, Cannot find another shoe that has the comfort, support and weight that these do. They just work very well for me. I have a few other shoes from Cascadia that I enjoy running in, whether its for short runs or road running. When it comes to trial or gravel roads, I prefer these and always have a back-up pair waiting in the closet.

My new favorite running shoe!

I use this shoe for trail running, mostly beach trails. They are light, but still have a thicker sole which is super supportive. Although this shoe is designed for outdoors, I'd recommend it for any type of training!

So far, so good

I've been running roads (and trails) in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for 10+ years (over many generations) and was ready to move to a more sturdy sole for running trails. I also am interested in moving slowly towards a zero drop shoe. I've been running roads (and trails) in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for 10+ years (over many generations) and was ready to move to a more sturdy sole for running trails. I also am interested in moving slowly towards a zero drop shoe. I picked the Cascadia using the online decision support tool on the Brooks website - noting that the Cascadia's drop is only 2 mm less than the Adrenaline. I do notice the drop, and the added 1.5 ounces of weight, but it hasn't given me any problems. I'm in the same size in the Cascadia as I wear in the Adrenaline 18s. The Cascadia's lateral upper panel comes around the foot nearly to the top midline, which I was worried would be a problem with my high bony arch, but I've been loosening the laces just slightly at the bony area and haven't noticed any pressure or rubbing. I got some slight rubbing on one heal yesterday after about 4 miles, but it was likely something that could have been fixed with a lacing adjustment. By the way, the laces on these shoes are interesting - they have some structure and shape to them, and hold very well at each particular eyelet, which makes it easy to customize fit around each part of the foot. The soles do seem stiffer (which is what I wanted for rocks and roots) and the added grip on the outer sole has been sufficient so far (though I've mostly been only on non-technical trails). I can't think of any true negatives, but as no shoe is perfect, I'm giving it 4 stars. So far, so good, Brooks. Thanks for keeping me moving over the years. Read More
