Happily surprised

Long, late review with some backstory. TL;DR. Don't wear it when you go to the gym for other activities or just walking. Mixed reviews about this shoe. Long, late review with some backstory. TL;DR. Don't wear it when you go to the gym for other activities or just walking. Mixed reviews about this shoe. I bought this shoe 3 months out from doing my first marathon ever. I had never run more than 10 miles straight and wasn't sure how to start preparing. I decided to look into well-reviewed shoes and stumbled upon this as well as a shoe from Asics as being overall quite nice shoes. When I did the 10-mile run, I did it in the first generation Adidas Ultraboosts and it felt fine. The comfort in these shoes was unparalleled to any other running shoes I'd worn before. They were so comfortable in fact, that in the first week I'd wear them as my walking shoes and occasionally lifting shoes. Despite how the feeling, the bottom right shoe had material fall begin to peel off after this first week so I was rather disappointed. I could go into more detail about the usage, but basically I was rather conservative in using them and definitely didn't prepare enough for my marathon. But, I finished it, and held around 7:50 pace. I don't think I could've done it without a good pair of running shoes and I'm glad they held together for me. I would definitely buy from brooks again and would be more cautious when I'm wearing the shoes. Read More

The best shoes I have ever run in!!!

I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis, sore heels and Achilles tendinitis. These shoes feel so good on my feet. I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis, sore heels and Achilles tendinitis. These shoes feel so good on my feet. I had to special order them because the local shops do not carry this model saying it doesn't fit in their shoe line. This shoes gives max support with max cushion. All this with the same basic footprint of the Adrenaline. I welcome this as I find the Addiction and the Beast too bulky. The show is not available in Wide but I find it plenty wide enough even though I wear wide in most shoes. Did I mention they also feel light as well as comfy. My only regret is not trying them sooner. Read More

Midsole way too soft

I don't see how this could be considered a "support" shoe. The midsoles are so soft they feel like walking on marshmellows. I have walked perhaps 20 miles in these shoes and the outside of the midsoles in the heel have already compressed. The midsole needs to be much more firm.

Great fit and comfortable.

I walk 6 miles daily and really like the shoe. The guiderails help in how the foot hits the ground. When I step my sides use to hit first and foot turn inward but now my step is more evenly when my foot hits the ground. #ReviewSweeps

15 Questions

4 questions: 1. Does the Transcend have a removable insole? 2. Running Warehouse.com's website says describe the Addiction and Beast as having a semi-straight last and describes the Transcend as having a straight last -- is that correct? 3. How does the size of the Transcend toebox compare with the Addiction toebox? 4. Which would be better, both for comfort and support and to accommodate a custom (non-prescription) orthotic, for a person with flat feet and bunions, the Addiction or Transcend?

2017/11/22 Phoenix, AZ Lou

1. Yes 2. The Addiction & Beast are on a strait last. 3. They are the same. 4. We recommend the Addiction.

Hi Adam, Unfortunately, the Transcend does not come in a goretex version. Brooks Running

The best option for you would probably be the Beast, which happens to be offered in fairly neutral colors!

Just bought a pair of Brooks adrenaline GTS 17. Size 11 2E. I also have a case of plantar fasciities which causes alot of discomfort. These shoes are amazing.I love them. I would like to try a pair of Brooks Transcend 4. But my only problem is that they dont make them in 2E sizes. Please make more of your shoes in wider sizes. This is a market that is begging to be addressed and waiting for some shoe company to step up to the plate. If so you will have a customer for life.
