Great Shoe that held up femolmenally

I run varsity track and cross country and have put hundreds of miles of these shoes and they were comfortable for any situation. They held up very well through being scraped against track and pavement to mud and rocks. The dirt was easy to clean off with a simple rinse in clean water. My only issue was I began it have the outside front of the toe box tear and I could no longer run in them. This…

Great Cycling Shoe

I bought these for cycling. I refuse to clip in, and needed a stiff forefoot. I like the highly visible color combination. They grip my MTB Pedals really well. Im ordering a 2nd pair since they're on sale.

Thinking about buying another pair as backup

I use these for cycling. I do not like clip in shoes. These grip the MTB pedals extremely well . The stiffness in the forefoot makes them perfect for riding . I like the neon color for visability. The sale price has me seriously considering a second pair to put on the shelf.

Instant hit

Great styling (I got two pairs of the yellow/black/red) to go with great performance. A little stiff out of the box but that's a minor retraction. The low to the ground profile, lightweight materials, and abundant traction set the Mazama apart from others.

Waterproof?

2017/11/30 Tinley Park IL Denny

The Mazama is not waterproof. If your looking for a Gore-tex trail running shoe than the Cascadia 12 GXT would be a great option!

Are these shoes okay for over pronation?

2017/11/24 Gainesville, FL JC

They are not recommend. You are going to want a support shoe. The Adrenaline ASR 14 is the best trail shoe for over pronation.

I love the look of this shoe, I predominately run on road (not really hiking persay) - is it that inefficient or bad to by trail shoe vs a road shoe ? Ami at any disadvantage? I am a casual runner who does perhaps like half marathons etc, not doing anything more competitive than that. I am just not sure if buying a trail shoe for using predominately on the street is just a huge no !

What is the insole drop?

2017/08/13 PA Trail Runner

The midsole drop for this shoe is 6mm.

I've used Cascadia for several years on a steep downhill trail — pretty loose and rutty. Lots of rocks, sand, dirt, and pebbles. I'm looking at the Mazama as an alternative with similar "grippy" wedges but the specifications claim it's the lighter. Seems Mazama may be as good or better…but it's not clear. Can you advise about the handling differences?

2017/08/10 Laguna, CA Chris

The Mazama will fit tighter than the Cascadia, so this would likely help with the loose feeling you experienced in the Cascadia!
