Disappointment After The 11

I stopped wearing Brooks Blycerins after they went to the DNA material. The BioMoGo material was phenomenal, and the DNA just ruined my knees. It was like running on wooden boards. It was sad to see a company just totally lose its way by dropping the heel heights (it hurt my achilles), forcing us all to become mid-foot strikers, and getting rid of a phenomenal sole material. Last summer I decided to do some trail running, and on a lark I bought the Cascadia 11. That show blew me away. The first time I tried them on I thought, "Wow, this feels like the old Brooks." It was like running on a rubber ball. My knees actually felt BETTER after running in those shoe, as though they were being healed or massaged. I ran the trail with those shoes from August-November, and then I switched to pavement running at night. I continued to run in those shoes, and they were better than any other shoe I had tried since dumping the Glylcerin. They eventually wore out and I just bought the 12. What a huge disappointment. It's clear that the ratio of BioMoGo is much lower in the 12 than in the 11. This has ruined the shoe. Not only does the shoe no longer protect the knee (it's like running on boards), but you lose your ability to precisely feel your foot position and alignment, you don't feel the shoe bend and conform over rocks and roots and branches because it's so stiff, and you, as a result, lose a lot of the pleasure of running. Brooks has blown it on so many levels, in my opinion. I used to rave about Brooks shoes, and now I haven't worn them since 2013 and tell people to avoid them. I had a glimmer of hope resurrected with the Cascadia 11, but now that's dashed. Read More

Best Cascadia version in a while

I used Cascadias a while back but haven't used them for a while. Got these and have been very happy with the decision. Run Happy, Run Cascadia.

Grandaddy of Them All

I've had the chance to get into a pair of Cascadia's each year since their early days and have found them to be the most trusting trail shoe on the market. Yea, they weigh a bit more than most but they'll go through any condition and keep you upright. The traction is flawless here in the PNW a place where many others fail the Cascadia allows you to just bank the corner hard and keep on rolling.…

Yea, they weigh a bit more than most but they'll go through any condition and keep you upright. The traction is flawless here in the PNW a place where many others fail the Cascadia allows you to just bank the corner hard and keep on rolling. I've got 100 trail miles on these as I write this and yesterday I put them through snow, slush, mud and wet rocks. When these conditions arrive they are my first choice to grab out of my shoe closet. Has the Cascadia 12 fixed the durability issues found in the 10 and to a lesser extent the 11? I wore out my 10s relatively fast and received a pair of 11's under warranty. While the 11 was an improvement, I still experienced tow-box splitting after relatively little use. Both shoes fit great but it'd be nice if they lasted longer

I am training for Law Enforcement academy, I run about half road and half cruddy uneven sandy dirt road. . . Your shoe finder recommended a Cascadia for Trail and Adrenaline for Road - Why not Adrenaline ASX for Trail, the only thing I change in the selector was the trail/road toggle?
