Everyone will have their own Run Happy feeling, but for us, it’s all about the transformative power of running. Have you ever gone for a run and come back full of positive energy, feeling like you could do anything? Of course you have! That’s how we know that running has the power to change a day, a life or even the world.

These are the same values that drive our Run Happy Team members – but with over 500 members from every corner of the globe, they all run for varied reasons. They agree that running is one of the simplest paths to happiness, but what makes them tick? Let’s find out!

We've asked our Run Happy Team ambassadors a few questions about what it means to them to be part of our crew, and why they do what they do. Keep reading to get some Run Happy inspiration!

What does Run Happy mean to you?

Run Happy is the Brooks ethos. To us, it’s when you finish your run in a happier place than when you started. To Run Happy means getting out there and forgetting about everything else, whether you head out on a solo adventure or hit the trails with friends. It means inspiring everyone to run their path to a better self, no matter their age, pace, or background.

Our Run Happy team gave some inspiring answers to this question.

Run Happy to me means, above anything else, that it doesn’t matter what happened during the day, because every time I go for a run, every time I train, my day changes for the better. It doesn’t matter if the training went wrong or right, it always changes for the better.

Susana Alonso Run Happy Team Spain

We couldn’t agree with that sentiment more, Susana! We also love what Thomas Dunning has to say about running happy:

To run happy for me is to just lace up my trainers, put on my headphones and go wherever the road takes me. I don’t care for distance, I don’t care for time, I don’t care for personal bests. I just go out there, have fun, and do what I love for my own mental health and wellbeing.

Doesn’t that inspire you to get your trainers on and hit the road or trails?!

Why do you run?

From fitness to fun, there are a million different reasons to run. Our team are a varied bunch, with some pretty interesting reasons for running.

Whether I’m alone or in a group, in the city or in the mountains, for fartlek or a long run, every time I put on my running shoes, it's the same thing: a shot of good vibes, happiness and wellbeing.

Maikol Polizio also loves running because of how it makes him feel.

It clears my mind, makes me free. And I love running in nature. But the main thing is that I can eat twice as much!

We hear you, Maikol – there’s nothing better than digging into your favourite pizza to refuel after a long run with friends!

What are your running goals?

Whether working towards completing the Couch to 5k programme, or aiming for a multi-day ultra event, everyone has running goals. No matter how big or small, you should celebrate your achievements and be proud to share them with the world!

Here’s what our Run Happy team are working towards just now.

Joyce Hübner is excited to get back to exploring new places after only running in front of the Italian embassy during lockdown. She’s aiming to run a PB in Berlin and finish the Mauer run with friends. Good luck, Joyce – you’ve got this!

Christophe Devers has an amazing goal: “to run 50 marathons before I turn 50. I’ve ran 12 marathons already, so I know what I need to do in the next 14 years! "Wow, Christophe – we can’t wait to see which marathon is next on your list!"

So there you have it: the Run Happy inspiration for our team members. Be sure to follow them on social, and share what inspires you to #runhappy!
