This jacket looks great, is extremely comfortable and surprisingly warm. As others have mentioned, the picture on this website doesn't do it much justice. It has a nice, very fitted look! In spite of how slim this thing is, you can still layer stuff underneath it.

I've had this jacket for almost a month now and I have been using it almost every day due to the cold weather. When I first went out in this thing, I was shocked at how warm it kept me, considering how it is incredibly thin and lightweight! If the temperature is in the 30s, I will usually end up unzipping the top at some point to allow some heat to ventilate. The collar keeps your neck extremely warm. The big vertical line on the front is reflective.

The hood normally hides inside the collar with a zipper enclosure. I went for a run in a snowstorm the other night when the wind chills were in the negative and I actually used the hood because the snow was falling hard and fast... and I discovered an interesting feature: There is a cord which goes across your lower forehead and then down and around the sides of your head, going along your temples and underneath your ears... and it can be easily tightened from the back. This thing is great... it keeps the wind & elements out nicely and comfortably!

Yesterday, I went on another run with negative wind chills and I decided to wear my Heater Hog LS underneath, since it was a slower, longer run with a friend of mine... this shirt/jacket combination worked quite nicely, but I think that if I was running at normal speed, I probably would've been too hot, even in those temps! Most of the time, I wear a light spandex base layer underneath.

I have provided a low-quality selfie in an attempt to show the nice-looking slim fit of this jacket. I am 5'11", 150 lbs. and wear this in size XS.

Most runners are likely slim, so this jacket would work great for them, but my husband who is tall and a larger man felt very uncomfortable in this jacket. He runs and works out regularly, but just has a larger frame, and the XXL size was still VERY tight on him. I understand the need to be a little more fitted to keep out wind and hold in warmth, but a little more breathing room for the XL or XXL sizes is needed at a minimum.

Comments about Silver Bullet Jacket II:

I ran around a Southern Minnesota lake when the wind chill was -5 degrees. 1 short sleeve and 2 long sleeve thin running shirts underneath with a skull cap mask under the hood. Very comfortable for the entire run. This jacket has good wind breaking properties. It takes about one mile for body heat to start reflecting back, it really does work almost like somebody turned the heater on.

Comments about Silver Bullet Jacket II:

This jacket is great and I would highly recommend it. I have used it in 30-40 degree weather and it peformed well. I also believe it will continue to perform well as the weather turns colder.

I have two suggestions for improvement and I would consider both minor.

I haven't had a chance to use the hood yet, but I am sure in a few weeks I will be glad to have it. I debated jackets with and without hoods, but ultimately settled on this one. The issue is when the hood is stored, it makes the collar bulky. After a few runs, I did get used to it, I just wish there was a better way to store it.

My other suggestion would be for the zipper to open at the bottom. This would make access to the media pocket much easier.

Comments about Silver Bullet Jacket II:

I am a huge fan of this jacket. I spent more time than I probably should have researching winter running jackets and ended up pulling the trigger on the Silver Bullet II. I run year-round, even in sub-zero temps and this jacket is the perfect layer. Below 20 degrees, an Under Armor coldgear layer is perfect underneath, from 20-30 I go with a long-sleeve tech shirt, and above 30, I go with a short-sleeve tech shirt. The hood is a brilliant edition, it has a slim, fitted feel which means there isn't any extra fabric blowing around, it keeps the wind out, and light rain/snow isn't a problem either. Comments about Silver Bullet Jacket II:

This jacket is simply the best. Light weight but very soft, not like a crinkly rain shell. The cut is fabulous, long and slender. I love the kaddywompus front zip, it lands just to the side of your chin under a very generous protection flap that snaps closed. The hood is great, not some afterthought barely usable plastic bag thing like some jackets have stashed in the collar. The hood is larger cut but with bungees around the perimeter to snug it up, even having a small "brim" like front to it, and of course it is lined with the aluminum membrane like the rest of the jacket.
The "cuffins" are great, fold over mitts for your hands built into the jacket. Ventilation under the arms and sides is great. Pockets galore!
The best part is how warm this thing keeps you though! A true winter winner! I wish every running item for winter I owned was from the Silver Bullet line! It feels so much like a spring weight rainshell but yet it is a heavyweight hitter!
        Bravo Brooks!

I was looking for a winter jacket and I found a good one. It provides cold blocking and wind protection. I'm 5'7" & 150# and found this jacket tighter under the arms more than like., but it's alright. It does what it says keeps you warm, lightweight and has stretch fabric in the right locations. Note, The collar is high on this jacket it covers my entire neck.

I bought this jacket as a replacement for a PI softshell I ran in all last winter and could not be happier.

I have worn this jacket in temps as low as 16 and as high as 34. using only a thin merino wool baselayer. It kept me warm right from the start and I never felt like I was over heating. Just as the product description says, you really seem to stay at the same temperature.

I have also worn the jacket in two different rain runs and had no issues. The thumbholes/half mitts are also nice. The elastic band at the bottom keeps it from rising up.

This jacket is amazing light and compact too. I never thought it would work as well as it does but...

Comments about Silver Bullet Jacket II:

Jacket is very light and feels very good on the body. I was a little surprised that collar is a bit bulky but that's because there is a hood hidden inside. Jacket zips pretty high up and provides very good coverage against the wind.

Make no mistake this is a true cold weather jacket. Is there such thing is too warm?

I usually run with a base layer and a jacket during winter time.

My first experience wearing the jacket was a 5 miler with temperatures in the teens and decent north wind. I got hot about two miles in and unzipped half way down to cool off.

My second experience wearing it was a weekend long run with temperatures in the 25-30 range, sunny, no wind. Started out fully zipped up, by mile two, I opened the zipper half way and kept it in the position for entire run. Still was hot with that weather.

This jacket is designed for those mornings when it's cloudy, windy and temperatures hover in the teens or single digits. Perfect winter attire.

I ran my first marathon in this jacket. The grim specter of winter bore down on me with freezing rain and below-freezing temperatures. I don't even want to mention the wind chill, but this jacket shielded me from it all.

I was warm and toasty for my entire run -- as soon as I got running. I actually got so hot that I had to unzip it from time-to-time to let myself cool off, but the bottom line is that you need to buy this jacket is temperatures go sub-freezing.
