Looks exactly like what I need for cooler weather. The large was too tight: I am 6'2" 210 lbs. I will do an even exchange for an XL. Can't wait to give it a try.

Comments about Essential Run Jacket II:

Bought this after a miserable cold, rainy 10 mile race. Vowed to find a jacket to keep that from happening again.
This jacket fits the bill, feels a little bit snug, but not any tighter that running gear.

It's warm and cuts the wind down. Only used this in "light" rain, with positive results!
All in all, I love this jacket.

Comments about Essential Run Jacket II:

i was looking for a casual black jaket to wear everyday and it never occured to me that i should try a running jacket. i was glad to find that brooks makes jackets in black. i have several of their products and i love all of them so i didnt hesitate to order. since i was concerned with people stating a snug fit, i ordered M and L ( i am slightly skinngy dude, 5'10", 160). for me, the M was the perfect fit. this is not a baggy loose fitting jacket. also, i think if you have a muscular build, it could be snug.

anyhow, i love this jacket as my everyday jacket. it's light and warm b/c it keeps the wind out. it offers just enough breathability b/c of the opening along the shoulder blades. i live in socal and i think i could wear this most of the year. when this wears out, ill be buying another.

typically, brooks is pricier than most brands. i feel b/c they are at the top of the game, it is somewhat justified. this jacket can be an viewed as expensive for what it is. it is essentially an outer shell. however, b/c i literally wear this everyday i think it was/is worth it.

        possible improvements:
-angle the pocket openings more. my phone/stuff falls out occassionally.

I wanted a waterproof jacket for running in wet weather. This works exactly as I hoped and is quite comfortable. I can wear this over a short and long sleeve shirt to run when it is snowing in the winter. Some people commented that the sizes run small, this is not the case I got a L and it fits great.

Very nice jacket. I'm usually a large in tech shirts by Brooks, but found this was a little tight through the chest in a L. XL was not too baggy. 6'00'' and 165 lbs.

It's a "workhorse." I use it more than any other jacket throughout the NYC winter. I will wear a long sleeve tech shirt underneath. Really keeps me warm, which is why I wear it.

You can also wear as casual wear.

Great jacket for Cleveland winter running in conjunction with just a long sleeve underneath. Media pocket is nice and zippered side pockets hold my house key. The collar is comfortable when zipped all the way up. I liked it so much that I bought a second one.

Comments about Essential Run Jacket II:

I wore this coat the other day on a windy 30 degree with only a Rev LS II shirt underneath and was sweating after 30 minutes. The jacket did a great job blocking the wind and the fabric around the collar was very comfortable on my neck. A large fit perfect (6 foot and 180lbs) Also the jacket can be worn on outings with the family. I would not recommend this jacket if you are going to wear short sleeve shirts because there is no liner in the jacket and it will stick to your skin when it is sweaty.

It took me 2 months to decide to buy a rain jacket for running. I thought it would be a useless purchase since you get wet anyway; boy was I wrong. This is a very good jacket for light to moderate rain, haven't tried heavy rain yet. I would purchase this again.
