Additional Information

Every lace and stitch of the all-new Glycerin 12 running shoe goes above and beyond the standards of comfort. This neutral running shoe for women was inspired by the clouds and designed to feel like running in a meadow toward the one you love. New Super DNA provides 20% more cushioning than BioMoGo DNA, while Ideal Pressure Zones in the outsole optimize pressure distribution from heel to forefoot. And the upper? A conformable saddle wraps the foot, while 3D Fit Print creates a custom fit without adding weight. At just 9.1 ounces, the Glycerin 12 is lighter than ever, but full of new technologies to elevate your run.

I work in a hospital and do 2-3 miles of walking each work day. I also am a supernator (serious under-pronator)with scarring from a ruptured plantar fascia. These shoes are very good at stabilizing the rolling of my feet to the outside. The fit is good. They provide adequate arch support, but I could probably use more. However, overall, they allow me to do all that walking without having aching feet in the end of a 12-hr shift. I also like the color choices for this shoe. Mine are the navy.

This was to be my sixth pair of Glycerins, unfortunately, I was very unhappy with them. I can't say enough great things about the 11, but the 12 is totally different and NOT for me.

I loved running in the Glycerins, and thought I had finally found a shoe that would give me the cushion I crave. This new version definitely does not measure up. I thought they felt wrong the moment I tried them on, but hoped running in them would make a difference. Nope. These feel too flat, as if the arch support is gone, and hard, as if too much cushioning was sacrificed for weight.

I got my usual 1/2 size bigger. The length felt the same as usual, but these are narrower than previous versions. I don't have wide feet by any means, but even with loosened laces, they felt too constrictive.

Needless to say, I am bummed. NOTHING else I tried on at the store felt as good as my Glycerin 10s and 11s did. Let's hope the next redesign can address these issues.

I say, if you like this version, you might as well just wear the Ghost as save a few dollars.

        Comments about Glycerin 12:

I have bought the last three Glycerins and I really like these so far. I have only put about 50 miles on them so far but I can definitely feel the difference in weight. They feel pretty similar to the 11s but lighter weight. Love the pink reflective color and I feel that they look great!

Was having problems with my Asics, which I've worn for years and loved. They changed the style and I was having foot pain on longer runs. Went with Brooks on the recommendation of a friend and having much better results.

              Best Uses

                Comments about Glycerin 12:

I love many things about this shoe. The cushioning is fantastic! The fit is great, and flexibility and support are perfect for me. I do not have aches and pains after using this shoe; I used them in a half marathon with no bad after effects. HOWEVER, this shoe almost completely encases the foot in plastic. It's almost as plastic as a plastic/rubber rain boot. Healthy feet need some ventilation, especially feet that are running and generating a good bit of heat. These shoes are HOT (temperature wise). The Glycerin is also pricey, and for the price I would expect something better than all this plastic. What was Brooks thinking?
