Since getting these shoes fitted to my gait and running style, these have been the only brand/model I buy.

Great overall shoes, I wear them for treadmill/city running, spin class, and at the gym. They're lightweight and provide good shock absorption. I did not find the stock inserts supportive enough; I use custom insoles given to me by my chiropractor.

And yes, I am so in love with these shoes that I have them shipped from my hometown Seattle to my current residence, Seoul.

I need a plain color for Academy!

      Comments about Defyance 7:

I took the Defyance 6 with me to Marine Corps Officer Candidate School. They were the best shoes I've ever had. The color was perfect, too; plain. Now I am going to the Sheriff's Academy and need top-performing running shoes again. I bought a pair of the Defyance 7. Like other commentors, I agree, they are not as good as the 6. Also, I went to Physical Training tonight and the deputies told me these aren't plain-colored enough. I don't know what I'm going to do now... Manufacturers make shoes in too many flashy colors, and don't offer plain colors anymore...

Changed and not for the better

          Comments about Defyance 7:

I have been wearing the Defyance for about 2 years after they were recommended for exceptional arch support in a neutral shoe. I loved them and went back to get a new pair (my 4th), but was disappointed in the overall quality of the 7 and the feel. They are now too wide and collapse at the arch. I have switched to the Glycerin and they feel much more supportive and solid but I am sorry to have lost the support I felt in the Defyance 6.

            Comments about Defyance 7:

The Defyance has been my go-to shoe for several years. I was reluctant to upgrade to the new model, but glad I did. I like many of the changes made in the 7 from the 6. I found the 7 to be lighter on the feet than the 6 without sacrificing cushioning or support. I would recommend these shoes.

              Comments about Defyance 7:

Like some who've commented, I had the Defyance 6. Actually those were my FIRST real running shoes and I LOVED them! When I went for my next pair, no brainer I bought the Defyance 7, assuming they were essentially the same but different colors. Boy was I WRONG!! I have had nothing but problems with these shoes. I feel like my foot is slipping to the outside (suppination) my entire workout. And they feel too wide...even after I've been running and my feet swell. (And let me tell you, I have wide feet!). I have tried thicker socks, lacing them different ways, inserts... I actually came on this site looking for recommendations and found that I'm not the only one with these problems. :( And it makes me sad because I feel like I've wasted my money and all the time I've spent trying to figure out why these make my feet hurt and my runs uncomfortable. I think it's time to give up and find a different shoes. That is money down the drain. :(
