Like peanut butter and jelly or water and energy gels, the lightweight construction and lush cushioning of the PureFlow 2 are a perfect match. The key to blending the two is engineering comfort features in a lean way like a shaped BioMoGo DNA midsole that gives your feet a cushy feel without added materials. It's a match your feet will hunger for.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I am loving my new PureFlow 2! I bought these for use in my bootcamp and step classes at the gym. I bought my first pair of Brooks last year to train for my half marathon (Ghost 5) and have been sold on Brooks ever since! I was using other brands for my fitness classes, but since buying these I will never wear anything else! These are so comfy and provide lots of motion for bootcamp etc. I still run in Ghosts but these are even great for short morning runs on the treadmill!

I've been running in the PureFlow 1 and PureConnect 1 for a few years now. I found the Connect a bit narrow for me, but the Flow was PERFECT (Only thing better would have been 0mm drop.) The new PureFlow 2 has a terrible upper. The 1.0 had a nice wide-ish forefoot that allowed my toes to spread (better than the Connect 1.0); and the upper had just enough volume to keep my foot secure. The new PureFlow 2 upper is STUPID. Its narrower in the forefoot (Not the sole, just the upper) - but seemingly made of the same amount of fabric so there's more volume to it depth-wise. That extra volume means that when you toe-off the fabric bunches and squishes the toes. The fabric on the upper is much less soft now as well, so the bunching fabric feels even better (read: not). The asymmetrical lacing/tongue is not an improvement. It's annoying and not beneficial for a distance running shoe. Climbing shoe sure, distance running no. The symmetrical lacing on the PureFlow 1 was very comfortable - I had no pressure points. The soles are still good. :/
I'm returning these. I have to say if Brooks doesn't go back to the original design I'm going to look for a different company.
Dear Brooks: Please go back to the PureFlow 1 design; and make a lighter color shoe per line-up please. Those of us out in the Hot parts of the US find dark shoes impractical.

Comments about PureFlow 2:

I love this shoe! I run long distances in these shoes. The best thing about this shoe, in my opinion, is that it is lightweight! I love how this shoe feels light on my feet. The shoe is slightly narrow, but it doesn't bother me. It could have a little more cushion in the front, but the heel has plenty of cushion. In conclusion, I am happy about the way the shoe feels and preforms on my long runs. Hopefully more shoes can be made similar to this!

      Comments about PureFlow 2:

I got these because I had a great cross country season in the first edition of Pureflows. I absolutely loved the first version so after reading reviews that compared the second and third versions, I went with the second one. So far, everything seems to be fine and feels very similar to the first version! The only annoying part is that the back of the shoe is unnecessarily high, causing blisters in the Achilles area. But since I love the overall performance of the shoes, I just bought higher socks to solve the problem. I've been using the shoes for trail, pavement, and gym running. I also got these a full size higher than my normal size because I've been doing that with all of my running shoes.

        Comments about PureFlow 2:

I had three different other running shoes as I began running before I got injured figured I should really invest in shoes that were right for me. That's when I discovered the Pure Flow 2s! I run about 30 miles per week on average and have done 2 half marathons in them. They have just enough support for those who are not true minimalists and need slight stability with pronation, while still being a light, comfortable shoe. The heel support in the back is great (not "bendy" like so many other shoes). I also have very high arches and am a forefoot-midfoot runner, and these shoes are perfect. I typically get around 270-300 miles in them before I need to replace them.

I highly recommend the Pure Flow 2s for anyone who wants a little bit of support while still having a minimalist shoe. I will continue to purchase the Pure Flow 2s for as long as Brooks keeps offering them!

I've been running for 20 years and these are the best shoes I've ever purchased. Not too much shoe, but just enough to feel supported and lightly cushioned while running. The curved lacing makes the shoe fit snugly without being too tight--no ouch points from the lacing. If I had to come up with a complaint it would be that the purple color doesn't match everything. But, then, I'm running not entering a fashion contest.

            Comments about PureFlow 2:

I don't usually do reviews but feel strongly enough about this shoe and situation, hoping I can help others with my running style pick the right shoe for them.

I'm a female, intermediate, mid-distance (LOVE half-Marathons and typically run 25 miles per week), average pace (8:30-9:00 min/mile) runner with a normal width foot (maybe leaning towards narrow). I think MOST important to note is that I am lightweight (about 95 lbs) and a neutral FOREFOOT runner. I have found it very difficult to find shoes that work with my forefoot running style. I hate shoes with a big bulky heal that i never even use! On the other hand, I'm not a true "minimalist", therefore true minimalist shoes aren't supportive enough or cushioned enough for me.

Enter the Brooks Pureflow! I've worn out 3 pair of version 1 of the Pureflows. I absolutely love these shoes. Others have described them as feeling like clouds or slippers and I concur! I can no longer find version 1 in my size, so these are the first P2's I've purchased. I just got them yesterday and ran 12 miles in them this morning out of the box. Changes from P1 did not bother me at all. Had SLIGHT rubbing on my pinky toes, which I don't remember in the P1's, but I think this will go away as I wear them. Again, this was very slight and didn't cause a blister or anything. Overall, I love them! I will use them for all of my runs, long, easy, tempo, speedwork, etc. I will probably order another pair at this great price!

For the minimalists out there, I don't think this is a true minimal shoe, because they do have a lot of forefoot cushioning (which I personally love). I'm not superfast so the cushioning doesn't bother me or feel like it's slowing me down.

Some have complained that they don't last that long, but I think they are priced accordingly for how long they do last. I usually get 300-330 miles out of mine. Again, I'm about 95 lbs. I would assume a heavier person will wear them out sooner.

So, forefoot/midfoot runners rejoice! This is the shoe for you!! (or, at least it was for me) . :-)

              Comments about PureFlow 2:

I am just starting to run, so I don't have much experience with running shoes. However, I feel like the cusioning in these shoes is almost too soft. It feels kind of spongy when I run. The shoe fits well and I like the roomy toe box. I can wear five finger socks with these and it feels comfortable. Overall, for my next running shoe I would probably go for one where the cushioning is not as soft.

These shoes are above and beyond what I wanted from a mid shoe. I wasn't ready to go to free running yet and I was looking for a transition shoe. These shoes are lightweight, perfect for my marathon training and the side-lacing aids in their super-comfort. Plus, they have gone perfect from rain to mud to clear roads in this crazy Buffalo weather.

I have a pair of Pureflow 3 which I love. I wanted another pair, and decided to try these at approximately half the cost. The 3 is very cushioned and has an almost bouncy feel, which I enjoy. These are very adequate in the cushioning, but lack the "bounce". The toebox is slightly wider in these, which I like, and could be a deciding factor for some.
