I used my bright blue Launch shoes for marathon training going into the San Antonio Marathon. The shoes were lightweight but had just enough cushioning to support me during long runs. Seems that with other shoes, you have to sacrifice support for lightweight, I didn't feel that at all with these shoes. When I first started using them, the tongue did bunch up on me around mile 10 and would put pressure on the top of my foot. This happened twice, but relacing my shoes by looping through the top two laces (apparently, there is a *right* way to tie your laces for marathons) and this pulled the shoe around my foot better and kept the tongue from scrunching up. The shoes have lasted since October (it's currently the middle of January), while I have racked up long long long runs, including the November San Antonio marathon. I don't feel like they've broken down yet and am actually hoping they take me through spring training and into my next race. Additionally, tying up my shoes and seeing the shoelaces remind me to "Dig Deep" always puts a smile on my face!

I run about 30 miles a week and bought these shoes to run the Cowtown Marathon. My heels have hurt from the first run. I thought they needed to be broken in but the pain continued after many miles both indoors and out. I ran a 10k this morning in a competetive brand and realized the Launch has very little cushion in the heel (comparitively). I LOVE Brooks and have worn the Ghost 3 & 6 and the Glycerin but I found this shoe to be disappointing. I'll keep it for strength training but I won't continue to run in them.

    Comments about Launch:

I love the old launch. The new version has a slight increase in heel to drop and more cushioning. I bought a pair and thought they would be fine. However I felt like I was running on balloons after a while. It's a significant difference from the old launch which I really like. I am a 5k and under runner (1500m/mile). Hope Brooks makes something for neutral light runners that isn't as much shoe in the future.

I got this shoe to rotate with my Brooks Ghost for training. I ended up running a 20K in the Launch because they felt so good. Light weight shoe. NOT for runners who need support or pronate or who have a heavy footfall. I like the feel of the 1's over the Launch 2

I have a serious plantar problem and these shoes are the only ones I've found that don't hurt my feel and can accommodate my orthotics. I know they're discontinuing them, which I'm sad about, but I've ordered my first pair of Launch 2... we'll see.

I have only been able to run in these shoes a few times, nursing knee pain, but I love them! They are light weight and the cushioning is great for me! I tend to get some aches and pains when shoes get close to wearing out and I am hoping these last a long time, from what I hear from other reviews they will! I can't wait to be able to get back out there and test them out more!

I work out a lot. I usually take high intensity cardio classes and my ankles used to hurt alot from all the jumping. I have tried so many different shoes until a friend recommeded brooks. These shoes are amazing, no more ankle pain! I recommend getting the Brooks, they are expensive, but if you work out alot, they are worth every penny.

Trust the reviews on this shoe with regards to size! It's true that it runs about a 1/2 size too big. I disregarded those reviews and got my normal shoe size...only to realize they truly are about a 1/2 size too big. Even so, I decided not to return my shoes, but I will order 1/2 size smaller next time around.
