I used my bright blue Launch shoes for marathon training going into the San Antonio Marathon. The shoes were lightweight but had just enough cushioning to support me during long runs. Seems that with other shoes, you have to sacrifice support for lightweight, I didn't feel that at all with these shoes. When I first started using them, the tongue did bunch up on me around mile 10 and would put pressure on the top of my foot. This happened twice, but relacing my shoes by looping through the top two laces (apparently, there is a *right* way to tie your laces for marathons) and this pulled the shoe around my foot better and kept the tongue from scrunching up. The shoes have lasted since October (it's currently the middle of January), while I have racked up long long long runs, including the November San Antonio marathon. I don't feel like they've broken down yet and am actually hoping they take me through spring training and into my next race. Additionally, tying up my shoes and seeing the shoelaces remind me to "Dig Deep" always puts a smile on my face!

I run about 30 miles a week and bought these shoes to run the Cowtown Marathon. My heels have hurt from the first run. I thought they needed to be broken in but the pain continued after many miles both indoors and out. I ran a 10k this morning in a competetive brand and realized the Launch has very little cushion in the heel (comparitively). I LOVE Brooks and have worn the Ghost 3 & 6 and the Glycerin but I found this shoe to be disappointing. I'll keep it for strength training but I won't continue to run in them.

        Comments about Launch:

I mainly run on trails and wear semi-minimalist trail shoes. However, I signed up for a all-pavement city marathon and wanted something equally light and responsive, but with a little more support. After an extensive search (and returning quite a few pairs of shoes back to the store), found these! Fit was perfect - I tried the "Pure" line shoes, but they were all too narrow for my (average width) feet. Ran the marathon after just a couple short break-in runs and have zero complaints! No blisters, and no foot soreness whatsoever after 26.2 miles of pounding pavement! Probably won't wear them daily for training runs, but will definitely use them for city racing!!

          Comments about Launch:

I wish I could have kept this shoe, as I liked the overall comfort and the fact that the shoe was not heavy. I did not like the color, which was the only selection available in my size. When I tried it out on my home treadmill I did not feel like my heels had adequate support. Maybe it will work out for others.

                Comments about Launch:

I have previously suffered from severe plantar fascitis and the Launch was my savior! I am on my feet all day, and was routinely (3-4 times a week) walk/running a 3 mile circuit at the local college, so I replace them religiously every 3 months. In May, I purchased my 8th pair. Unfortunately, just a few weeks in to the new pair (this years model), my feet begin to hurt, and I could no longer make it through the work day without sore and tired feet, much less the 3 mile walk at lunch. I called my local running store where they were purchased from, and was told that they had made some changes to this years model and that the shoe was slightly more narrow and that they had been experiencing a lot of complaints from long time Launch fans. I was so very disappointed! This shoe in its previous years has been a life saver! Why change what was working??? Bring the old model back please!

Although, the Lauch was a cushy, cool looking, light shoe, it felt tight. My foot is slighlty wide, but not wide enogh for wide shoes. I usually wear a Ghost 9.5 wide (with thick socks) or a regular 10. I wanted to try something a little different. It did not work out for me. I ended up exchanging the for a Ghost 6.
