Additional Information

Let your feet sing with light-as-air design and fully loaded flex. The PureConnect 3 gives you just enough shoe to go where the turns are tight and spontaneous breakaways are encouraged. With enhanced Toe Flex, streamlined medial side design, and a slightly more rounded heel, this kick is ready to kick.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

Since the first version of PureConnect hit the market, I've owned and run in every single color released. In all the prior versions, the PC's seemed to run a bit narrow and most anyone who has owned these knows that you had to order at least a full size larger than you normally would in any other type or brand. However, the PC3 finally fits much better now. If you've ever owned a prior version of the PC, you can safely order a half size down and be quite comfortable. For example, I usually wear about an 11 in street shoes and 11.5 in running shoes, but used to order 12's in PC's. I ordered a 12 and an 11.5 in the PC3, and the 11.5 fits the best.

The toe box is much roomier than it has been, the sole has received some love borrowing from some of its other "Pure" relatives/ancestors. The PC has always been the last stop on the road to minimalism, yet maintains many of the features you want from beefier type running shoes and the PC3 is no different. It's still a very lightweight shoe, yet has just enough cushion without overdoing it. Overall, I feel it's the best one yet.

Have been through nearly half a dozen pair of the PureConnect 2s and loved them...run about 70-90 miles per week. When my last pair of 2s wore out, I switched to the PureConnect 3s ordering blindly the same size as I wore in the PureConnect2s...first run in, I got horrible blisters on the bottoms of my feet on the inner arches. Called and Brooks kindly offered to exchange them and send me a pair of the 3s in 1/2 size smaller...I hope that does the trick...so my initial view was that the PureConnect 3s felt heavier and a lot bulkier than the 2s. I will update when I get a new pair of PureConnect 3s in the 1/2 smaller size...but to be safe I've been trying to buy up all the remaining PureConnect 2 that I can find!

Watch the Eyelets

By Gazelle

from Ohio

About Me Casual/ Recreational

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Good Traction
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Lace Eyelet Break
  • Wears Out Quickly
  • Width

Best Uses

  • Road Running

Comments about PureConnect 3:

Cons:
1.)Broke a lace eyelet in less than 15 days of running. Mainly run on pavement and the local track doing 20-25 miles per week.
2.)Tongue Design - not a fan of one side being fixed in place, causes tongue to wrinkle right on top of my foot.
3.)Shoe is wider than original PureConnect - more shoe than I ideally want.

Pros
1.) Love the sole design
2.) Flexible
3.) Feel in control of the shoe

    Great minimal shoes

    Comments about PureConnect 3:

I run 20-30 miles a week in these. They wear out quickly, but that is what Brooks says they'll do because they're light. I've been getting about 200-250 miles out of them before I know they really need to be replaced (my toes start popping though the sides). I've been wearing the pureconnects nonstop since they came out. This is the best pair yet, the taco style tounge is reversed from the 2s and it holds on the foot better this way. I'll keep buying them so long as they keep being so great. Just know that, as with other minimal shoes, you'll be replacing them more often.

    Disappointing compared to PC2

    Comments about PureConnect 3:

I fell in love with the PureConnect2. However, the PureConnect3 runs larger by a half size and does not even compare with the PureConnect2. I will forever use Brooks, however the PureConnect2 is a far superior shoe.

      Comments about PureConnect 3:

I loved the 2's, my favorite show of all time! This is not the same shoe IMO. It seems so much more stiff and hard. Was assured at the running store (good reputable one) that the ride would be the same, it is not. So disappointed.
A friend that turned me on to the 2's has the same opinion.
Looks like other good reviews here, but if you loved the 2, beware....
