I like the Ghost product but I spent the extra money to get a Gortex shoe that would breath. I run in southeast Louisiana where in the late summer evening the temp and humidity are up there. After about an hour of running the shoe, unlike the nongortex shoe, had my foot sweating like it never had before. The sweat appeared to be trapped by the gortex. My feet were sloshing about so much I quit running after the hour

I bought a new pair of Brooks Ghost 6 to replace my 5's. I loved the 5's, but the 6's dig into my arch. It seems like the arch is higher in the 6 and I actually got blisters on the arch of my right foot. I have always been a Brooks loyalist, but this model will not work on my feet.

Comments about Ghost 6 GTX:

DISCLAIMER: I am still under 50 miles with this shoes.
I'm using the Ghost 6 GTX as wet weather road running, and they are fantastic shoes! My only wish is they came in a wider version. They are comfortable enough to run in for shorter (<6mi) runs but much more than that and my feet start to hurt. This could change as I break in the shoes. Does a great job of keeping my feet dry, and LOTS of cushion for the sole. Getting them on sale for $90 was a steal!

      Comments about Ghost 6 GTX:

I bought my shoes at REI in Santa Monica (last shoe in my size). I'm not a runner and when I travelled to US I was just looking Gore-Tex shoes because in Mexico nobody know what Gore-Tex means. I must say that this is are great shoes for everyday and gym, the design is very nice.
I was interested in this shoe because I live in Mexico City and between may and oct rains a lot, so I was looking for a running shoe with Gore-Tex that is of course waterproof and good looking, this Ghost 6 GTX is the best looking of all I saw like Adidas, Asics, New Balance, etc, except Brooks the other brands has horrible Gore-Tex shoes looking their design. I have used the Ghosts in rainy days without issues.
Plase Brooks, dont stop of doing this kind of Gore-Tex shoes especially for people that lives in Mexico, where people wear the horrible Nikes... Very good job!

          Comments about Ghost 6 GTX:

I purchased these specifically for winter training. I'll typically run in 20 deg F temps on road and hard-pack dirt, with lightweight ankle socks. Once I get warmed up, my feet do not notice the cold and afterwards, my feet are actually sweating. I also wear these for speed work. I alternate between these and another pair of shoes and have yet to have any problems or discomforts with my legs and feet. I'll probably set these aside once the spring weather hits, but will be sure to strap them back on next winter.

I use the GTX mostly for running in rain and winter weather. Here in Vermont, winters are long. These shoes keep me running all winter long in comfort. Ran yesterday on a dirt road covered with fresh snow... 10 degrees F. Couldn't be happier.

having been in the army I know how important it is to take care of my feet, I was in the wrong shoes and started having problems with my feet, knees, and hips. But now that im in the right brooks with less support, im not running on the outside of my feet. I feel great and im getting better from all the damage I did in the wrong shoes.
            Im a BROOKS RUNNER 110%

I use my shoes only to run. When you first try them out for a run the shoes adjust to your toes, so do not be fooled. I did not receive a pair of socks which is the only thing I am upset about. Lol.
