Gave my new ASR 10's a good test this morning – a combined trail/road run that included packed dirt, a stream crossing on wet rocks, large/loose rock, asphalt, sand/dirt shoulder and gravel trail. Very pleased with how well they handled all of the various terrain while maintaining comfort and control. Most of my runs combine various surfaces and I have been trying to find the right shoes for the job. I had a pair of Adrenaline road shoes several years ago and had a good experience so I thought I would give these a try. I am a moderate overpronator, but I don't always buy shoes with this level of stability control especially for trails. After one run, I can say I'm pleased with the protection they provided without limiting the ground feel. I even had a slight stumble on some loose rocks and the ASR's provided good toe protection. Time will tell if they continue to provide solid traction on multiple surfaces, but so far so good.

I was looking for a hybrid shoe for traveling - one that could handle walking on city streets as well as airports or hiking treks.

I liked this because it has a lot of padding, however, it has water resistant upper and has a trail specific outsole. It's a great Hybrid shoe for those that mostly walk or run in the city or suburb streets, but want a shoe that will perform well when hiking or trekking as well. I hope the padding keeps my feet comfortable as I stand in line at the airport.

The shoe isn't super flexible, and for some reason it made the inner side of my feet hurt. Not sure why, (maybe the shoe was too slim?) so I had to return them.

Overall, I did ALOT of research, and think this is one of the best hybrid shoes available (and they're not too expensive as well). And the color looks good in person too!

Comments about Adrenaline ASR 10:

The only issue I have with these is they are quite slippery on wet sidewalks. They feel great on every other surface I've had them on.

Can't comment on wear - haven't had them long enough to tell.

      Comments about Adrenaline ASR 10:

I've been very happy with my Cascadias for fast runs on forest trails, but I've been doing more casual run/walks on both packed dirt and pavement in the same outing lately. After 4 months of experience, I've found the Adrenaline ASR 10 delivers the versatility I need. Traction is excellent, even on loose, steep slopes. It has more height and cushion in the heel than the Cascadia, which enabled me to walk 5 miles on asphalt a few days ago with no discomfort. Just right for my 69 year old legs!

Purchased the ASR 9 for an ultramarathon trail run last year and was completely satisfied. Unlike some others models of Brooks footwear, the ASR 10 seems to improve upon the its predecessor. Lightweight, good traction, good responsiveness, you name it. I'll probably buy a few more pairs just in case!

        Comments about Adrenaline ASR 10:

For The North Face Endurance Half Marathon in Marin Headlands of CA, I enjoyed running in the Brooks ASR 10's better than running in the same trails in my New Balance 860v3 two weeks earlier.

Both are excellent shoes. I'll wear the New Balance on the road. I barely felt the rocks in fire roads of the Headlands in the Brooks shoes and my socks were freer from dirt and pebbles afterwards.
