Additional Information

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. We've taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost.

We’re not the only people who have fallen in love: Runner’s World® named the Ghost 6 "Editor’s Choice" in the Fall Shoe Guide in their September 2013 issue… the fourth straight Ghost to earn the honor. They called out the new forefoot overlays welded on rather than stitched, but really loved “how fluidly the shoe rolls from heel-strike to toe-off." In short, the Ghost 6 offers "a sweet balance of weight, cushioning, and everyday durability" – and the editors say "The lightest Ghost we've seen leaves nothing out." Can you say "Four-peat"? Spooky good.

My first review on these shoes was that they were too firm. While I still would like to see them a bit more cushioned, I have to say after using them for months they have become my favorite. The fit and feel of the shoe is very good. They have a bouncy feel to them. They also have good flexibility and are light on your feet. Don't think I've had a shoe that fits my foot any better, and I've ran in 20+ different kinds. I even reach for them first when I looking for a causal shoe to wear. The workmanship of this shoe is better than most. They seem really well built. Highly recommend them!

The fit and feel of this shoe is good. The problem I have with it is that it's to firm on impact for my liking. I currently run in it and the Saucony Triumph 10. The Triumph has a much softer feel on impact than the Ghost. The Ghost however in most other areas outshines the Triumph. I just wish it had a softer feel on impact. Perhaps that's just a personal preference, but I like my cushioned shoes to feel softer. Wish it was as soft as the Triumph, hands down it be the better shoe.

First impression

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Run

This is the first running shoe from Brooks i've ever bought. Running 5K 3 times/week.
In my first run with these I had a good first impression! Good grip and comfort.
"...They wanted to go faster and so did my legs the only thing holding me back was my lungs and pounding heart..."
I'll back to write another comment after some more runs.

I have worn Ghosts for 4 years, replacing regularly every 300-350 miles. This is more frequent wearing out than another brand I often wear, but I come back to this shoe every time. Works great for my wide toe box and medium heel, guidance and reasonable support without being heavy and clunky. Shoe is a little stiff, though. I am not fond of wearing these in the rain.

I run 3 to 6 miles every day and occasionally do recreational 10K and 10 mile runs. This is the first time I have tried the Ghost 6 and I am pleased. I previously ran in Glycerine 10s. I decided to try the lower cost Ghost and I find them to be a suitable replacement for the Glycerine.

      Love Ghost series-but-1 persistent issue

Been running in Ghosts for several iterations. One big issue that persists, maybe getting worse, is the back of the shoe (where your heal slips in) is not constructed well and if you are very careful, the cushioning get deformed and you will always have this uncomfortable lump in the back (touching your Achilles).
