Additional Information

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. We've taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost.

We’re not the only people who have fallen in love: Runner’s World® named the Ghost 6 "Editor’s Choice" in the Fall Shoe Guide in their September 2013 issue… the fourth straight Ghost to earn the honor. They called out the new forefoot overlays welded on rather than stitched, but really loved “how fluidly the shoe rolls from heel-strike to toe-off." In short, the Ghost 6 offers "a sweet balance of weight, cushioning, and everyday durability" – and the editors say "The lightest Ghost we've seen leaves nothing out." Can you say "Four-peat"? Spooky good.

Love the Ghost but hate running in the rain? The Ghost 6 GTX is also available. Everything you love about the Ghost, but with a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® membrane to keep your feet dry and comfortable. No more blaming it on the rain!

My first review on these shoes was that they were too firm. While I still would like to see them a bit more cushioned, I have to say after using them for months they have become my favorite. The fit and feel of the shoe is very good. They have a bouncy feel to them. They also have good flexibility and are light on your feet. Don't think I've had a shoe that fits my foot any better, and I've ran in 20+ different kinds. I even reach for them first when I looking for a causal shoe to wear. The workmanship of this shoe is better than most. They seem really well built. Highly recommend them!

The fit and feel of this shoe is good. The problem I have with it is that it's to firm on impact for my liking. I currently run in it and the Saucony Triumph 10. The Triumph has a much softer feel on impact than the Ghost. The Ghost however in most other areas outshines the Triumph. I just wish it had a softer feel on impact. Perhaps that's just a personal preference, but I like my cushioned shoes to feel softer. Wish it was as soft as the Triumph, hands down it be the better shoe.

  • Pronation Control
  • Responsive

Cons

    Best Uses

    Comments about Ghost 6:

I am 59 and run about 10 miles per week. Brooks Ghost just seem to feel right for me. The fit and support are perfect. The only thing I don't like about the 6's are the flat laces which seem to be much flimsier and shorter then the round laces on my 3's and 4's... plus every color combination was pretty ugly.

        Comments about Ghost 6:

I upgraded to the Ghost 6 from a well used pair of Ghost 5s. As far as shoe feel goes, the 6 and the 5 are very similar. I ordered same size/width and the new pair feels the same as the old model. Very happy with my choice, and looking forward to my half-marathon training because of it.

          Comments about Ghost 6:

Started a few years ago with the Ghost 5 and bought several pairs. Brooks discontinued so now have 2nd pair of Ghost 6. Good shoe. I run about 30 miles/week. But hate the fact Brooks changes shoe model so frequently. I'm not looking forward to having to buy Ghost 7 next because reviews have been more negative than the Ghost 6. I wish they'd keep producing the Ghost 5 and 6.

I'm a casual runner 3-5 miles 3 or 4 times a week with an occasional 5k. These shoes are light weight and very comfortable right out of the box. Best running shoe I've had yet.
