Additional Information

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. We've taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost.

We’re not the only people who have fallen in love: Runner’s World® named the Ghost 6 "Editor’s Choice" in the Fall Shoe Guide in their September 2013 issue… the fourth straight Ghost to earn the honor. They called out the new forefoot overlays welded on rather than stitched, but really loved “how fluidly the shoe rolls from heel-strike to toe-off." In short, the Ghost 6 offers "a sweet balance of weight, cushioning, and everyday durability" – and the editors say "The lightest Ghost we've seen leaves nothing out." Can you say "Four-peat"? Spooky good.

First pair of Ghost 6 after 2 pairs of Ghost 5. Use for work (ER staff) and for jogging 10-15 miles per week on gravel and pavement. Have narrow feet so limited on color choice in B width but color is OK not great. Best feature is the low price now that there is a newer model available. Compared to the Ghost 5 these seem to make my feet sweat more and more smelly. Same socks and same feet but not as dry and comfy as the 5's. The laces are elasticized which I liked at first but now really dislike as it makes it harder to properly adjust the tension on the laces. I like to cinch down the middle part of the shoe and leave it looser near the top. I find myself untying and either loosening or tightening them a few times a day at work. For jogging they are excellent as expected and not a huge change from the Ghost 5. Bottom line: if you liked the Ghost 5 you will probably like these also. Only down side is the laces and ventilation seems not as good. I will probably move on the the Ghost 7 when these wear out to see if they are better in these areas.

The fit and feel of this shoe is good. The problem I have with it is that it's to firm on impact for my liking. I currently run in it and the Saucony Triumph 10. The Triumph has a much softer feel on impact than the Ghost. The Ghost however in most other areas outshines the Triumph. I just wish it had a softer feel on impact. Perhaps that's just a personal preference, but I like my cushioned shoes to feel softer. Wish it was as soft as the Triumph, hands down it be the better shoe.

Comments about Ghost 6:

I have had every Ghost shoe from the beginning of the series. I had to give up running a few years ago and just walk now. I have a pair for walking and pair for work where I am a surgeon and on my feet 12 hours per day. No other shoe can get me through the day like the Ghost.

        Comments about Ghost 6:

I run approx. 20 miles each week - all of it on tarmac. I've experienced shin splints with other shoes, but so far these feel great. They are light, with a much more responsive feel that I've ever had before. I really love this, as I seem to be able to tell exactly where my foot is striking the ground much better with these than some others. I have worn them for approx. a month and they still look like new. I've worn them in dry, wet, and snowy weather and they've done great in all conditions. The only minor point I would make is that my feet do feel a little colder in these than in my Asics. Not a big deal - I alternate between the two but prefer these.
