Additional Information

A middle child to neutral and support, the Ravenna 4 is leading the charge for in-between feet. This season, this shoe is bringing a little more cushion, a bit more flex, and a whole lot of swagger with sleek design lines and fast colors. We've also honed in on midfoot capture and engineered a saddle that envelops the foot with an adjustable band. Not too Neutral and not too Support, the Ravenna 4 is juuuust right. Don’t take our word for it: Runner’s World® named the Ravenna 4 its "Best Buy" in the Spring Shoe Guide in the March 2013 issue. Their bottom line? "For the price, it’s awfully hard to beat this balance of features and ride."

Ravenna 4 is better than the Ravenna 3's but then again I ran in them once and threw them in the back of the closet. These shoes are still not as good as the 2's. Still a little too "high" feeling, the 2's seem to envelope over the top of your foot and you feel more secure. These are also more narrow in the toe box, feel a little unstable, and have given me some outside toe issues. I like the cushion in the fore foot and these are definitely an improvement from the 3's. Please just remake the Ravenna 2.

Having loved the Ravenna 3, when it came time to put a new pair into rotation I jumped on the Ravenna 4. Overall I like the shoe. As one who lands on the forefoot, so that is most noticeable, downside is the toes feel a bit cramped when running. Felt great trying on and testing in the store (a new pair of shoes always has a little less flex), used my usual buying tests, but after at least 5 miles, usually by 10 miles, the stiffness up front is wearing on my feet and am noticing the forefoot is feeling cramped. Have about 250 miles on these, will wear them out on shorter runs but the 3's are around 400 miles and am running long runs in them and will run them into my next marathon. Will buy Brooks again - love the product - but will probably be a different shoe in their lineup. Would love some wilder color combos as well folks!

I graduated high school in 2002, and from there, I thought I was done running. I've run in every other major shoe brand, and as I'm 30, I wanted to try something that I've never used before. After my last pair of other shoes bit the dust back 2011, My wife and I wanted to get back to walking/running. I had tried on several pairs of shoes, but i didn't like any of them until my wife threw a box at me with bright green shoes in it. I looked at them, then her, and her only response was "Try them on." I put them on, and I felt my feet sink into these shoes perfectly. Tied them up, and walked around a bit, and I loved them from the first step. IN a year, i went from absolutely no running at all, to running 25-30 mi/week, and I've done 2 races.. These shoes were so fantastic that i bought another pair in the blue/orange shoestrings, which i LOVE, but i'm sad to see they no longer have any more. Another good thing that happened with these shoes is that any knee/hip pains i used to have are now pretty much gone when i'm running. i have a slight case of osgood schlatter's, and i feel absolutely no pain. Gotta switch up to the 5's before i wear my beloved 4's out!

Attention all flat-footed or super low arch runners!
This is the shoe to purchase. Your search ends here. This is a phenomenal shoe with pronation control and stability. It is lightweight and provides excellent cushion which is crucial for the impact we exert when running. Truly, I'm so pleased with my recent purchase of the Ravenna 4. I have not ran in the Ravenna 5, but will try since I think the 4 feels way more comfortable. Thanks Brooks for creating such a dynamic shoe for us flat footed runners!

      Happy Running!

          Best Uses

          • Endurance Training
          • Speed work
          • Utility

I switched to the Ravenna after years in the Adrenaline. The Ravenna comes across balanced - wears lighter and more responsive, while still offering plenty of stability. It is my go to running shoe for all types of running, highly versatile. Transition leaves a bit to be desired - when that gets figured out it won't get any better.
