Unisex Sizing Badge Speed

$85.00 $70.00

Style #100019

The lightweight T7 Racer running shoe is primed to propel your performance to new heights. Built for maximum efficiency, this incredibly light road-racing shoe is the fastest in the pack, with an eye-catching color for fly-by style. The streamlined, asymmetric upper works with the anatomy of the foot to perfectly wrap the arch securely from start to finish.

Available in unisex sizes only. For women, we suggest ordering 1.5 sizes smaller than your usual.

Note: As this running shoe is a very lightweight racing flat, a majority of runners will find its cushioning insufficient for a full marathon. If you have a light frame and an efficient stride, you may be able to give it a try. We suggest racing several half marathons (or longer) to test how the T7 Racer works for you before attempting a full marathon.

The new nightlife/black color scheme looks great. Unfortunately, Brooks moved the manufacturing of this year's model/color to Vietnam (previously made in China). I say unfortunate because the sole isn't as soft as the previous versions (pre-2015). I would say subjectively, the midsole is about 15-20% firmer than the ones made in China. I am not sure if this was an intentional design change or a manufacturing variation but I have tried several pairs of the nightlife/black versions and each one has felt consistently firmer than the pre-2015 versions. The upper volume has also shrunk down slightly which makes for a tighter fit which can be a plus or negative depending on how the previous year's model fit your feet. For me, they now cut up sides of my feet near the toes due to the switching whereas before, I had a perfect fit. They used to be the most cushioned, comfortable, light-weight, responsive half-marathon and down, racing flats on the market with a heel/toe offset that won't strain your calf and Achilles. Now, they are giving me bottom of foot pain and various muscle twinges or aches because the shock absorption from the firmer midsole just isn't up to par with its own former version anymore. Please bring back the old, softer midsole! You guys had a perfect shoe! (typically run 70+mpw and use this shoe as a daily trainer on dirt roads, track work longer than 5 miles and all road racing).

I am a marathoner with much experience, currently training for running next year's Boston Marathon. The T7 Racers have great width in the toe box which is what I need for my toes to splay. They also feel like a nice glove, wrapping your foot in comfort, with nice quality cushioning. They are also fast. BUT the extreme heel-toe drop of 12mm is much more than other shoes. I am accustomed to a 4-5mm drop. It made my knees hurt after only 4 miles. Not sure I will get much use out of these expensive shoes. If this shoe had a bit more cushioning (stack height) and a lower offset (4-5mm), it would be THE perfect shoe.

These were crazy fast. Ran a 10K in a personal best at > 40 years old by about 2 minutes. However, these shoes run an easy 1/2 size if not a full size small. didn't affect me on a 5K trial run, but blisters and other issues manifested at 10K.

I have worn the T7's for a couple years now. They are comfortable enough to wear in short events like sprint triathlons or long events such as a full marathons. Not a lot of traction while running in snow or wet conditions but still my go to shoe.

      Comments about T7 Racer:

Although I didn't hate the shoe I really dislikes how dirty they got so quickly. they also fit smaller then the shoe chart, I wear a women 6 usually but for my gym and running shoes I alI ways get a 7. In their chart it said for women to get size and a half smaller and I did, I got a 5.5 I thought that would be perfect considering I can fit a 6, but my toe is right at the tip of the shoe. I can still wear them however if I were to have tried them on prior I would have got a size larger.

      Comments about T7 Racer:

I'm only 18 months or so into my running addiction but have tried several different manufacturers and several different models of shoes from each. Brooks T7s are by far the best shoe for how I run. Very lightweight, my T7s fit true to my size, are highly responsive on the run and have helped to propel me to multiple PRs. I love Brooks in general but T7s in particular (so much so that I have a stash of "new in box" sets just in case Brooks ever decides to stop making these!) Highly recommend.

        Comments about T7 Racer:

These fit WAY too small. More than 1 size (which was the max I could post through the system). And the heel is rigid (there is some kind of stirrup over the base of the Achilles). I was in these shoes for 12 minutes before I had blisters bad enough to keep me from running for a few days. If the heel cup fits your feet, great. If not, there is no give.
