The Cascadia 8 was designed from the gritty, wet, and uneven ground up. Engineered to adapt to the surface and your foot, this versatile piece of equipment runs an ultramarathon and then asks for more. We swapped out the midsole for BioMoGo DNA to create a super cohesive transition and deluxe-ified the Caterpillar Crash Pad on the lateral side to smooth that heel-to-toe even more. The suede geometric pattern on the upper is a shout-out to past Cascadia designs but also serves the function of wrapping the foot for a close fit.
Don’t just take our word for it: Runner’s World® named the Cascadia 8 its "Editor's Choice" in the Trail Shoe Guide in the April 2013 issue and wrote, "The Cascadia has that rare combination of road-shoe comfort and trail-shoe ruggedness." In short, the Cascadia 8 offers "A well-cushioned and smooth ride on any surface."
Please note: The Cascadia is intended as a trail running shoe. It is not pack-rated and may not hold up to the extra weight and demands of long pack hikes. We’re your go-to option for trail runs, but a sturdy hiking boot would be better suited for the Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail, or other long pack trips.

These are my first Brooks running shoes. I've been trying different brands to fit my running style and my narrow foot. Love these. Ran four miles in them the first day. Felt great, no breaking-in time needed.

This is my third pair of Brooks Cascadia running shoes. My last two pairs have been size 8. After reading reviews saying to order 1/2 size down, I did, and they fit great. I love the cushion, great stability, awesome on flat ground but PERFECT for rocky trail terrain (I live and run in Missoula, MT). I love these shoes and will never buy another trail running shoe.
Thanks again Brooks!

I would recommend you try these shoe on before purchasing. I am normally a size 6 with any shoe and this shoe was a little too big.
However, I have had many trail running shoes and had been an avid asics fan for years. Since my High School Cross Country days. The problem was that my arches would burn because of the non existent arch support.
After breaking in my new Brooks, on my third run in my new shoes I felt like I was gliding through the trail and noticed that my arch hadn't started to burn at all.
The comfort of these shoes are next to NONE. They are heavy and bulky. BUT if you think those toe shoes are ridiculous THIS is the right shoe for you.
I received this gift from my Dad as a birthday gift after he was tired of listening to me complain about my terrible arch burn. He researched the best running shoes and came across this brand and this shoe.
I can honestly say I have made my transition to a RUN HAPPY lifestyle! :)

I've been road running in Brooks Ravennas for years and have purchased a half dozen pairs in size 9. Surprisingly, I need the Cascadias in size 8.5. Definitely try them on or order a half size down!

Good comfort, good width but was surprised to find them feeling .5 size bigger than usual and I have had this model before. I wear all Brooks sneakers and always wear a 8.5. I had to return this pair and order a size 8
