When you want nothing to come between you and the trail, the ultra-light PureGrit won't get in your way. We constructed an outsole with an aggressive, multi-directional lug pattern for better grip on the ever-changing surfaces of adventure. Its concave shape delivers better balance by splaying out upon impact and creating more surface area for ground contact. With blazing colors, you'll light the trail on fire. Metaphorically.

We’re not the only people thrilled with the changes: Runner’s World® named the PureGrit 2 “Best Update” in the Trail Shoe Guide in the April 2013 issue. Sure, the editors noted the updates to the upper, what with the thinner and lighter materials, asymmetrical lacing, and burrito-wrap tongue. But as they wrote, “it’s underfoot where we noted the most meaningful change. The first version of the shoe had a clever outsole pattern that held well on loose dirt, but its swirly, pointed tread proved slick on rocks and roads. This update gets a more traditional design – diamond-shaped lugs have sharp edges that bite into nearly any surface.”

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

      Comments about PureGrit 2:

I walk between four and six miles at local trails every other day. I wanted a lightweight shoe that was very breathable because I hate wearing socks. This shoe is perfect.

I tried on the women's PureGrit 2 and it was a little bit too narrow along the lateral supports so I switched to the men's and the fit is great. The shoe seems pretty neutral to me with little pronation control.

The shoe has great traction even on wet pavement. When this pair wears out, I plan on replacing with another PureGrit.

      Comments about PureGrit 2:

I was looking for a the cushion and support found in the Cascadia, and the breathability of the PureConnect. I found exactly that in the PureGrit2. It is an excellent shoe for going out and getting dirty while working up a good sweat. I wish that I could find more earthtone based colors, but thats never the case with running shoes so no real complaint can be made. I love this shoe and Brooks is decidedly the best running/ trail shoe I have found as far a price and quality are concerned. I was given a reccomendation on which shoe to go for next via email and tey were right on the money. I am going out to Run Happy and preach the Brooks Gospel.

      Thank you!!!

      Erick

        Comments about PureGrit 2:

The Pure Grit is a great overall shoe. The only thing that it doesn't do great, which is something it's not built for, is running on the road in the winter months. The rubber seems less flexible and stiff when running on the road to and from the trails during the winter (40 and below). Other than that this shoe should be the official trail shoe for all trails. Works very well on the canal topath here, which is made up of macadam/ gravel, in Williamsport, MD. Works well in grass, would be a great XC workout shoe. Eats up rocks on the trails like candy. Perfect shoe, nearly. I've worn almost all Brooks shoes and these are ranked right at the top.

          Comments about PureGrit 2:

i tried the pureflow and they were too squishy in the forefoot area, also too squishy for trail use. i run pavement during week and epic trail runs on the weekend, these shoes provide good stability for a lightweight minimal type shoe and the new tread pattern is rock solid. new lacing pattern doesnt constrict the tarsals across the top of the foot.

          Comments about PureGrit 2:

I Live in Hawaii on Oahu and use the shoe for trail running. I was very excited to get this shoe with the new tread pattern as I was not impressed with pure grit 1's traction. The shoe has perfromed very well over muddy and rocky terrian, the shoe is light weight, comfortable, good flex and no noticable impingement areas. I have noticed the need for an extra flex groove or a tread knob on the medial side of the shoe for use during toe off on steeper sections of trail. Having just a little bit of extra bite would be much appreciated. Aside from this, the shoe runs well and flexes nicely on top of the foot even with the anatomical lacing (I was skeptical; as the cascadia 6's dug into the top of my foot).
