Like peanut butter and jelly or water and energy gels, the lightweight construction and lush cushioning of the PureFlow 2 are a perfect match. The key to blending the two is engineering comfort features in a lean way like a shaped BioMoGo DNA midsole that gives your feet a cushy feel without added materials. It's a match your feet will hunger for.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

color isn't accurate

The color is so much better in person. Much brighter. I'm not sure about the offset lacing yet. I haven't had a long run in them yet to know if I like it.

As a loyal Brooks customer, it pains me to leave a negative review, but the Pure Flow 2 is just a disappointment. I was hooked on the Launch until the release of the original Pure Flow. Since January 2012, I have owned 8 pairs of Pure Flows and logged at least a couple thousand miles, not to mention a marathon PR. Even better is that I was running injury free and I am now a believer in a cushioned shoe with low heal-to-toe drop ratio. The Pure Flow 2 has the same feel on the run as the original Pure Flow, but the new upper does not work for me. I prefer the tongue and lacing configuration of the original shoe. I have been feeling soreness in the same areas on both lower legs after logging 80 miles in my new Pure Flow 2's. I put on my old Pure Flows for my 6 mile run this morning and will not be going back to the 2's. Instead, I will take this opportunity to buy up the original Pure Flows at a discount. Maybe others will have better experiences with the Pure Flow 2's, but they just do not work for me.

    Comments about PureFlow 2:

I am a ~30 mile a week runner who participates in many road races. I love a lightweight shoe, not minimalist, with a small heel to toe differential. I had been using the Kinvara's for a few years but always felt they could use more cushioning. I read the PureFlow 2 description and some reviews and it appeared to be what I was looking for. I have 140 miles and 2 races (a 5 miler and a 12K) in these shoes and love them. The weight, fit and cushioning are perfect.

    Comments about PureFlow 2:

The PureFlow 2 is a great shoe for anyone with an average foot... that means width and arch. It would also work well for anyone who under-pronates, like me, or even people who pronate evenly. Over-pronaters beware, as this shoe may cause stability issues. I wear a size 13 in most shoe brands and with Brooks I was also a size 13 which made the initial fitting much easier.

For the past 7-8 years I've had extreme difficulty with running because of constant knee pain. It got so bad that I haven't run on pavement in the past 4 years. I wasn't sure if I had knee tendinitis or runner's knee, or something more serious which would have required surgery. I chose to to simply stay off of pavement and use elliptical machines.

The reason I decided to give the PureFlow 2 a shot was the way my foot sat in the shoes. Up until Brooks I had only ever worn Nike running shoes. In every Nike I've ever worn the heel of my foot tends to sit higher than my toes. This is because Nike over-pads the heel as a way to prevent impact. However I believe this was hurting me more than helping me and was a probable cause for my knee pain. Having my toes hit first or even at the same time as my heel was very hard on my knees.

With the PureFlow 2, my toes sit higher than my heel. That's because in place of the extra heel padding the PureFlow 2 has a curved heel to help your foot perform a natural roll forward when running. When I tried them on for the first time I immediately felt a lessening of pressure around my knee, even from walking around. I've run in them three times so far and have had absolutely no knee pain whatsoever. I have been taking it easy and have only been running about once every 3-4 days so far, especially since I haven't really run on pavement in years and will probably always be wary about my knees, but so far the results have been top notch.

I've read some complaints about the laces. Yeah, they are a little funky because of their shape and they are not as easy to tie as a normal lace, but if they are really giving some people problems then they should just go out and by new laces for $2.00. There's no reason to give a shoe a negative review when the problem is an easy fix.

I would highly recommend the PureFlow 2 for anyone who has had knee pain in the past. I'm sure it will help.

I would not recommend the PureFlow 2 for people who over-pronate or who run trails as I don't believe the stability and traction are made for those things.

These shoes are super-sharp looking and probably the most comfortable I've ever worn. I bought a pair of Cadence2 at the same time and I prefer the Flow2. They are lighter, a softer impact, and just plain better looking. These are great shoes.

      Comments about PureFlow 2:

I'm in the military and started getting serious about running because, as I get older (35 now), I find that I can no longer just go out every year and gut out a decent time for my annual PFT. I started running more seriously in January and it was about normal for me to do a 3 mile run in 29-30 minutes. I've been running at an average pace of 8:20 minutes per mile for 5 mile runs for the last month or so. I bought these shoes today and immediately went for a 3 mile run and turned a 22:05. These shoes are super light and feel great while running. I'm a forefoot striker that did all of my running in Ghost 3's up to this point. There is a slight slip in the heel, but I think I can probably lace them differently to lock that down.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my first run in these shoes!

        Comments about PureFlow 2:

I switched brands looking for something that could replace the Green Silence, but was not 100% satisfied. However, after reading reviews and talking to friends, I learned that the Pure Flow 2 had all of the really good features of the Green Silence, so I returned to Brooks and am very glad that I did. This shoe provides great cushioning, in a lightweight and stable shoe. I couldn't be more pleased.

          Comments about PureFlow 2:

I'm a neutral runner, but I'm flatfooted and to make things even more complicated, I'm a forefoot striker who supinates and wears the outside of all running shoes. I was in the Dyad for a few years and it was better than what I was used to. I would typically get about 350 miles out of a pair before they were done for. I decided to give the PureFlow a shot thinking I'd go back to the Dyad because the mileage of the PureFlow (250-300). Since that first pair I never went back. I felt more comfortable in that pair of shoes and even got much more life out of them (450ish miles) than I did from the Dyad. Since then I've purchased a total of 4 pairs of the PureFlow first and second models. I couldn't be more happy running in them! They're so comfortable that I still use that first pair for anytime I need to run an errand. Finally I'm in the right shoe and now I run happy!

            Comments about PureFlow 2:

As a guy without a typical runner's build, I was looking for a minimal-style shoe with a bit more cushioning. I'll look no further, as the PureFlow 2 is it. It's cushioned nicely, but still retains the responsiveness you want from a minimalist-style shoe. And the tongue design change from the PureFlow 1 is a nice win.

This shoe has thus far been a "run"saver! I was suffering from some minor injuries, in what I believe was due to other shoes. Certainly, it probably was that I had the wrong shoe for my foot. HOWEVER, I just ran a 22 mile long run in preparation for a marathon and I am absolutely in love with this shoe. The long run was the real test for me; and this time, it proved worthy of an A+ review! Not only am I intending on wearing this in my upcoming marathon, but I plan to run a great deal with this shoe in the future. Thanks Brooks for designing and getting me this shoe. It is comfortable, lightweight, and promotes a healthy stride.

                Comments about PureFlow 2:

I am training for Ironman and am attempting to find the right balance of cusioning/comfort and performance. I am a neutral arched midfoot strike runner. I have used the pure flow1 for one year and liked the combination of neutral drop and cushioned feel but felt like the toe box was for too wide. The pureflow2 has reduced the toe box and kept the cushioning and neutral drop. However, I have had trouble dialing in the perfect lacing on them as the new lacing system does not snug up the way a traditional shoe does. This worries me that I will have uneven pressure in my foot which I have slightly noticed so far but have not ran more than 1:15 in them. I also am still unsure of what the elastic band does but on this model it does not create friction with my foot like the origional did.
