Comments about Nightlife Essential Jacket III:

I know this is not advertised as a waterproof jacket but, my first time out in the jacket I got caught in a downpour. Long story short, everything not covered by the jacket was sopping wet. However, everything under the jacket was bone dry including my cell phone in the inside pocket and even a pack of tissues in the outer pocket! The fit is perfect. I am 5' 9" tall and have trouble finding clothes that fit. This jacket fits me perfectly. Plus my husband says that I look hot in it (lol). This is going to be my go-to from now on.

I love the fit. I love that cars can see me coming. It makes a difference. Mostly I love that I can wear it in a "warm" rain 50-degree-F type day-and not feel overheated or muggy. It is not "plastic-y" does not make noise. Moves with me well. I got a medium I am 5'8" 132 pounds usually a small (!) in brooks. The small would have worked too. I like a little room to move.

        Lighter weight than I'd hoped

Comments about Nightlife Essential Jacket III:

This looks like a nice jacket, but it is really more of a light jacket for evenings in the spring and fall than a wintertime running jacket. I wasn't really able to gather that from the product description, which should really include recommended seasonal usage or temp ranges (the men's gear does).

I have a cold weather jacket from Brooks that I love which is a few years old, I run in it below freezing temps all the time. I was looking for something similar for my girlfriend, but this jacket is not it, so I'll be returning it and trying a different model.

Comments about Nightlife Essential Jacket III:

Highly recommend. I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of this jacket. I've worn it on almost every run this winter, and it's kept me warm & dry & very visible. It's not waterproof, but I've stayed dry when I've worn it in light to moderate rain (I haven't tried it in a downpour). It's the perfect outer layer & when worn over 1 or 2 base layers, it has been comfortable at 20 degrees to 50. It's also lightweight so easy to tie around your waist when you warm up.

Comments about Nightlife Essential Jacket III:

Bought a similar model from the Marine Corps Marathon official booth. Absolutely loved the jacket, but the seam at the upper arm started pulling open after just a few wears in the cold weather. My report to Brooks Customer Service has gone unanswered. Very disappointed...I wanted to love this jacket.
