I've only had these shoes for a couple days now so this is just initial impressions of it. I agree with anybody you hear say that they're tight the very first second you put them on. For the first couple minutes I was starting to regret my purchase. After a couple of minutes it totally changed. I couldn't give an exact amount of minutes, but it almost feels like a rapid break in. It begins to feel snug but not so tight, and I'm honestly in love now.

Wow is it bright. the website almost doesn't do it enough justice with how vivid the orange is, and at least to me it appeared to have a slightly more red tinge online. I'm already purchasing more clothes to work around this though, because I don't want to take them off. I'm on my feet for a solid chunk of the day and I haven't had a problem so far. It seems when you first put them on you'll notice that initial snugness, then you get into enjoying the super dna cushioning system, and the further you get along you begin to feel that support.

I had to order these online because they don't carry it at the retail store I work at. When customers ask for basic differences between the more popular brooks we carry, I'll tell them that the Ravenna is like a mix of the adrenaline and ghost. To me the transcend ups it, and I would say it's more like mixing the adrenaline with a glycerin. I only know what I've tried on though, with the transcends being the first pair of brooks that I've actually owned. It really seems to be cushion when you want it and support when you need it.

I guess I'll finish up with a few smaller things. I replaced the provided shoe laces with some straight black ones, which improves the appearance by a decent amount if you ask me. I don't just go out and run really all that much, and again haven't owned these long so I cant speak to the durability of them. The rounded heel and ideal pressure zones do make you feel a smoother step throughout. My satisfaction with this shoe has literally only grown since I've had them. I can't wait to see what brooks does to further perfect the second generation when it comes.

I surprised by these shoes. After all the talk about them floating I expected them to be pretty soft underfoot, but that wasn't the case. They are actually quite firm. That's not to say there isn't a lot of cushioning between you and the road-it's just pretty firm cushioning. So, if you're looking for a soft ride, I'd look elsewhere. On the plus side, as usual the fit is excellent. That's true of all Brook's shoes I've tried. Brooks has the fit down pat. The quality of the shoe, like usual, as with all Brook's shoes I've had is above others. I just wish Brooks could make a softer feeling shoe on impact. Pronation control (guide rails) work, fit is great, quality is good, just needs to be softer on impact for my taste.

I'm a recreational runner I run about 15-25 miles a month, I have wear Nike all my life, but until now I will be a brooks for life, my first impression when I put them on they wore heavy compare to my Nike shoes but after my first run I felt incredible and the other small thing that I have to say is they feel a little wide, but you can work it out no big of a deal, I really recommend this to over pronators out there you will love this.

I'll buy again, Add more color choices

    By Abby

    • Good Arch Support
    • Good Traction
    • Lightweight

    Cons

      Best Uses

I tried on several shoes and when I put the Transcend on I knew it was the shoe for me. It had a cushioned feel while maintaining good arch support. It is lightweight and has good air flow for hot climate wear. If there were more colors to choose from, I would buy one in every color! I was previously wearing the Brooks Glycerin.

Have done a few short runs for training and just completed an 8 mile run in them recently. First pair of running shoes that have not caused toe numbness after the 5-6 mile mark. Very smooth ride. Will definitely get another pair once these wear out.
