Great for cold weather
2016/09/26 | Naperville, IL | bwya77
I live in Chicago and we have brutal winters. I haven't had a pair of tights for about 4 years. They have progressed leaps and bounds since my last pair. I decided to look into a nice pair for to keep me warm during longer runs. These have water resistant material that goes from the top to the knee cap and then from the bottom of the knee to the ankle. Water will bead up and roll off. These areas are also warmer as well. Overall it keeps me very warm in the cold. I would use these more in the winter/cold than say a fall day in the rain. I believe some of the other lighter tights are better from rain/fall than these.
Yes, I would recommend this!
Did not meet expectation
2016/06/11 | Calgary | Cold weather runner
The description of this product suggest that you should be able to run in a heavy thunderstorm with these. I took it out for a 5k run in moderate rain and I was pretty soaked after the run. It was 10c and windy, so the water that soaked in does help me cool off, but if it's near freezing, it could have been dangerous. The windproof panel appears to be water resistant but so much water soaked in, it feels pretty wet everywhere. It is also much warmer than I expected. I was expecting a shell, but it more of a brushed fleece. I would recommend this for rain running during cool and warm weather, but don't depend on it near freezing or expect it to keep all the water out. I'll continue to use my xc ski pant for cold weather running and waterproof pant for wet weather running. On the plus side, it is very soft and comfortable. It will probably make a good winter layer. Overall, the pant did not meet expectations, but it could be useful for somebody else who run in different environment.
