Technology

DriLayer Horsepower

This fabric evokes the standard measure of power and for good reason. Get the same giddy-up in places where you need a little extra oomph-like tights and sports bras.

Fabric & Care

DRILAYER®

Our signature sweat-wicking fabric is thoroughly tested for comfort, performance, and durability and optimized to keep you, the runner, performing at your best.

Handwashing is ideal, but not always possible. Fasten all hooks and straps, place in a lingerie bag and use the gentle or delicate cycle. Always line dry, and never use dryer sheets or fabric softeners—they can clog the fabric and shorten the life of the bra.

I recently treated myself to two new Maia bras and I am beyond impressed. I wear a 32F bra. It is extremely difficult to find bras for daily wear and close to impossible to find a sports bra that is worth anything. I ordered a 32E (largest cup size available). I mostly do high-impact Zumba/dance classes for cardio 2-3 times per week and this bra is fantastic. I own a previous incarnation of the Maia bra and can say that what I thought was an amazing sports bra already has been greatly improved. The gel-padded straps are a huge improvement. They do not cut into my shoulders and my arms don't go numb during exercise. The underwire, double-bra concept provides great hold and compression during high-impact activities, yet preserves a nice two-breasted silhouette, no shield-chest or uni-breast! The overlaying modesty layer has also improved and I do not bulge out on the sides or over the top as in the previous version. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this amazing bra! I cannot recommend it highly enough!

I had been wearing the older Maia bra for yoga and Zumba for two years — I am a 34E, and really need the shaped cups to provide...shape. The old-style Maia bra looks so great I often wear it under casual sweaters and t-shirts — if it shows with a V neck, it just looks like a black camisole.

I read the reviews that said the new Maia bra was less attractive and less comfortable, but I decided to try it anyway. When I put it on and looked in the mirror, I nearly burst into tears (of frustration). Now my breasts just get pushed back under my armpits to create unattractive lumps. There are a lot of seams on the side of this bra, but the great support in the old Maia just isn't there. And the old, smooth look? Gone and replaced by a lot of seams.

So now my favorite bra has apparently vanished from the planet, and I'm in shock. You have to wonder what motivated them to redesign the Maia bra — perhaps it works better for people with small breasts? I guess that's possible.

Too small

Comments about Maia:

I need a larger cup size then offered by the Maia - so although I was looking forward to the delivery, I had to return. If at some point there was a larger size such as an EE I would be in heaven and again order two or more. I did like the way it was made, and I believe the way it would fit if available in the larger size. Thank you.

Not good for running

Comments about Maia:

This is a good comfortable bra, but not for running. I wear 36E and I do not like any bounce when I run. Unfortunately this bra did not provide any support to prevent bouncing. This would be good to normal activity at the gym, but not for running or any kind of activity that has a lot of jumping.

It was a little tighter on the band than my regular bras, it is comfortable everywhere else. The band doesn't fold over like many that are made similarly. It has hook and eye closure on the back. I'm hoping after toning up the band will fit better.

    Comments about Maia:

I wear a 36E and am a distance runner. I still get a lot of chaffing on my rib cage and under the wire. I use vaseline or body glide without relief. I have found that wearing a tank top under the bra does cut down on the chaffing significantly. The moving comfort Maia is still the best bra that I have tried. It's the only one that I currently use. I just wish that someone would come up with a totally chaffe free bra for those of us in the DD+ category

      Comments about Maia:

The band rolled up and puckered during the first use, hooks dig into my back. Material is thick and bulky (show under most shirts), it's also rough and scratchy against my skin, not breathable- very hot and sweaty. For as bulky as this bra is, it offers minimal support for running.
Why oh why can't anyone design comfortable high-impact sports bras for chesty girls?!?!

Comfortable but not built to run

      Comments about Maia:

I just started running in the last month(ish). I am a busty woman, so I find running not the best option without adequate support. Moving comfort was recommended to me by some other buxom ladies.

As far as comfort for a sports bra, this thing is magical. It lifts, you feel secure, the fabric is soft, the under band is comfortable, and the cups are ample. The band doesn't cut into the skin like a lot of other sports bras.

With all of this comfort, though, the cost is that it doesn't limit the bounce when one is running. Now, one good thing is that there's enough support within the bra, that on bottoming out of the free fall (it doesn't feel like they're going to pull off the chest, but it's still not the most comfortable feeling. I have a preference for more restricted movement of the girls during exercise, and this lacks the restraining I prefer.

This is one of the BEST sports bra I've used. These are comfortable and perfect for big chested ladies! One of my favorite things about this bra is that it has a layer that I personally use to put another bottle of water :-) it keeps me cool and hydrated! This was a great buy.
